Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert. Congress said "someone may steal from it at night." So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job.

Then Congress said, "How does the watchman do his job without instruction?" So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies.

Then Congress said, "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?" So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One to do the studies and one to write the reports.

Then Congress said, "How are these people going to get paid?" So they created the following positions, a time keeper, and a payroll officer, then hired two people.

Then Congress said, "Who will be accountable for all of these people?" So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary.

Then Congress said, "We have had this command in operation for one year and we are $18,000 over budget, we must cutback overall cost."

So they laid off the night watchman.

Quietly, we go like sheep to slaughter. Does anybody remember the reason given for the establishment of the Department of Energy during the Carter Administration? No? Didn't think so.

Bottom line. We've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency ... the reason for which not one person who reads this can remember.

It was very simple and at the time everybody thought it very appropriate. The Department of Energy was instituted on 8-04-1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil.

Now it's 2009 -- 32 years later -- and the budget for this "necessary" department is at $24.2 billion a year. They have 16,000 federal employees and approximately 100,000 contract employees -- and look at the job they have done. Now we are going to turn the banking system and the auto industry over to the government?

If the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Bahamas and many other countries Offshore Bank Accounts are connected to the financial crisis via CDS’s and the collapse of derivatives such as ABS, MBS, CMBS, CMO, CDO, CBO, CLO, and other structured financial products. Why isn’t the US Federal Government investigating “all” Offshore entities ASAP? Why aren’t the CIA, FBI and US Government all over these secret bank accounts? If the following statements, taken from another website, are true what… the heck isn’t going on? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Offshore banking is what helped bring America and the World down… it was a major cause of the current financial crisis. The Suisse estimate that almost $70 trillion in Credit Default Swaps (CDS) originated from “Offshore Companies” in the Caribbean. All of those CDS agreements were kept private and priced in dollars. The architects of this subprime trash are based in the Caribbean and “under their laws” can’t be identified. These short sellers are the buyers of this derivative insurance and the “secret” individuals. They could be a desk manager at Lehman or AIG, a CEO of JP Morgan Chase, US Congressman, Federal Reserve board member, CEO of a Swiss Bank or hedge fund, a convenience store clerk and have an Offshore entity placing bets against any company’s financial products. Some of these same people helped sell the World banks the MBS/CDO/ABS’s financial products. Think about this; “A single CDS allows for 100 or more bets to be placed on the full value of the financial instrument in case of default,” far exceeding the issuing banks cash on hand to back it up in case of default. The total estimated amount of bets made in just one month of 2008 exceeded $12 trillion. Tens of trillions of US dollars are generated from thin air by individuals, banks, investment banks, insurance companies and/or hedge funds using ABS, MBS, CMBS, CMO, CDO, CBO, CLO, and other structured financial products. A giant bubble created by greedy elites and Wall Street types almost 6 times the size of the total $13.4 trillion economy of America. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Strange isn’t it, seems British Virgin Island Law supersedes and/ or has precedents over USA and/or World Laws to the extent of allowing the bankruptcy of entire nations. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The real question is who owns these foreign island bank accounts and why does the US Government protect these criminals?
