Some of your statements just aren't true. 1st only 2 presidents as far as I can find ever reduced the size of government. One was Richard Nixon who had the same philosophy as Obama (it's not wrong if the president does it) and Ronald Reagan. NO DEMOCRAT HAS EVERY REDUCED THE SIZE OF GOVERNMENT. 2nd every president in the last 30 or more years has increased the national debt (ALL OF THEM).

The majority of what you post up here PMB is just liberal rhetoric with NO evidence to prove what you say. You have ZERO CREDIBILITY, I can here the same nonsence on MSNBC any time.

Rabbithoundjb, that above statement in part is just not true. The only President too not only reduce the size of government but also balance the budget and also have the nation debt free. That is correct "no national debt" was a Democrat. His name was Andrew Jackson and he ran against Henery Clay who was a huge Republican back in the day. Henry Clay was from the state of Kentucky and he along with the rest of the Rebulican leaders thought that the rich should control everything and they did up until Andrew Jackson took office. He sold off national land to pay the debt and shut down the National Bank along with the Rebulican Leaders who was abusing the system.

Apparently you are under the wrong impression in regards to my post. I was NOT making an excuse whatsoever. My language and comments are tit for tat as far as I am concerned...I can go back and copy and past some of the vitriol directed towards me and others on this board if you would like. Doesn't bother me though since I know politics can get heated and its not always a bad thing.

Well Old Blood my curiuosity got the best of me and I did go research Andrew Jackson. He did reduce the national debt but not to zero (about $34,000) but much better than today no doubt and reduced the size of government but the way he went about doing that (attacking the banking system/the wealthy) also sent the nation into a depression. It was somewhat strange the simularities in what he did and what is happening now with this administration attacking the wealthy and trying to redistibute wealth. It had a negative effect on the nation then and it is having a negative effect now.

You where right though he did reduce the debt and the size of government.
