John, if all the Public Servants, who had committed felonies, were in prison, who would run the government.
From the head of public utilities in small towns to the President of the United States.
I'm sure you have seen where the head of the ARHA had a job, (on payroll) with no work requirements for several years in Knoxville, TN.
The head of a local water dept near Greeneville, TN is in trouble for abuse of power, nepotism. Her daughter inherited the job.when she retired. It pissed off someone and an investigation was launched.
When I lived in Morristown in the 70s, the county road commissioner lived about a half mile from me. Each time it snowed the road would be plowed and salted just past his home. There was a county Hwy 113, that was so narrow, and bridges and culverts were flooded/overflowed each time it rained. I moved back in 98. County road 113 is now a wide very well kept road. No flooding. The County Commissioner had built a new home on Hwy 113 while I was away.

Re: Interesting Thread
When I was a young, young man hauling bootleg whiskey in my 56 Ford and later my 58 Ford from the still to a city, the police asked me later in life to come in and tell them how I caused so many police to run off the road. They heard the stories.
I told them in a class they had about old timey reminiscing and they laughed at the answer because it worked.
Today they would just shoot you instead of chasing you on back roads and maybe even later having a hamburger with you at the local diner.
