Medal of Honor recipients snubbed as warships named after liberal politicians
By Rowan Scarborough - The Washington Times - Tuesday, April 12, 2016
As the Obama administration this week named another warship after a politician, a new report is circulating in Congress that shows that nearly 200 Navy and Marine Corps Medal of Honor recipients have never been awarded such an honor, contrary to naval guidelines and tradition.
Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, who has named several ships after Democrats and liberal activists not connected to the military, was in Detroit on Monday to announce that an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer will be named the USS Carl M. Levin. The Michigan Democrat served 31 years in the Senate and chaired the Senate Armed Services Committee from 2007 to 2015.
The move has rankled some Republicans. They note privately the long list of war heroes yet to be so honored and the Navy’s own tradition of naming destroyers after deceased Medal of Honor recipients and other combat heroes, as well as admirals and generals who played significant roles in naval warfare.
Mr. Levin did not serve in the military.
WHAT? No USS Rufus Stewart? War Hero and Obama lackey deserves some recognition. Who will they snub next.
Can't wait for the USS Hillary Clinton. First Lesbian First Lady and Secretary of State to make millions off selling Uranium to the Russians. First War Ship with Transgender Bathrooms.
What a Surprise

New Balance pressed by Obama to stay quiet on TPP deal, reneges on deal

The Boston Globe is reporting that U.S.-based shoe manufacturer New Balance has come out hard against the Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal. The odd thing, though, is that "the Boston company had gone quiet [on TPP] last year." Now, apparently, we know why: New Balance officials say one big reason is that they were told the Department of Defense would give them serious consideration for a contract to outfit recruits with athletic shoes.
quote:
But no order has been placed, and New Balance officials say the Pentagon is intentionally delaying any purchase. New Balance is reviving its fight against the trade deal, which would, in part, gradually phase out tariffs on shoes made in Vietnam. A loss of those tariffs, the company says, would make imports cheaper and jeopardize its factory jobs in New England. Tariffs on shoes are steep, and New Balance is one of a handful of shoe companies that still manufactures shoes in the United States. (Though, 75 percent of their shoes are made abroad.)
quote:
Matt LeBretton, VP of public affairs for the company, tells the Globe that: We swallowed the poison pill that is TPP so we could have a chance to bid on these contracts,...We were assured this would be a top-down approach at the Department of Defense if we agreed to either support or remain neutral on TPP. the chances of the Department of Defense buying shoes that are made in the USA are slim to none while Obama is president.
quote:
The fight comes as a result of a statutory requirement known as the Berry Amendment, which places restrictions on where the items used by members of the armed forces are manufactured. New Balance had hoped their U.S.-made shoes could put an end to the exemption for imported athletic shoes, which the DoD has allowed in recent years.
Make deals with the devil you, get burned.
Why does Barry hate US manufacturers so much?
Answer: He hastes America.

I just saw on Fox news this morning, the average one out of five profitable companies paid no taxes, 0 zero. All legal by the tax codes. It seems if you pay no taxes to support the infrastructure and making of your living the only reason you'd leave the country is that you hate the people of the country, but not their money.
Reminds me of when all the oil men had their meetings and said if America doesn't want to pay the price for oil, China will take it. Now the oil Companies are on the hook for over expansion and the massive debt load they've borrowed from the banks is about to come home. Dare they go for another bailout of the banks? Booms and bust!
The shortsightedness of industry is amazing and the abuse of bankruptcy sickening. There is no pride, no shame!
