Re: Sarah Palin???
John McCain, more of the same.
FACT: He's voted with the President over 90% of the time. That's higher than just about any other Republican, House or Senate.
FACT: Bush has a 33% approval rating.
I guess you have to ask yourself......Do I really want more of the same?

rneil and pike ridge i agree with you guys 100%
It’s not about agreeing, its about promoting all of the facts from both sides. We all need to learn something and have an open minded approach with this selection. Don't get caught with blinders on! If you like one candidate over the other that’s fine, but try to look at the entire picture now while you still have that chance. Come November that choice will no longer be available and we will be stuck with one of these sorry choices.

Re: Sarah Palin???
I received this from my sis tonight and thought it was pretty interesting.
SARAH PALIN'S EXPERIENCE:
Don't dismiss the fact that Sarah Palin is Commander of the Alaska National Guard-- consider this.
Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It’s on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.
As governor of Alaska , Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's and certainly by far exceeds Obama's.
She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans.
Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska 's proximity to Russia , she may have security clearances we don't even know about.
According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.
She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.

To bad she isnt the one running or President! There is just something about McCain that i don't like, but from everything i have seen and read on Palin i like. Her and Hillary would make a great pair! You would have the best of both worlds.

Who really knows what to believe? While you were sent that, I was sent something totally different. A friend of mine sent me this from “The Post”:
Desperate to prove that Sarah Palin has "national security" credentials, many McCain supporters have turned to her experience "commanding" the Alaska National Guard during her 21 months as governor of the state.
Of course, while these yo-yos might actually believe this nonsense, at bottom it's a pathetic, hail Mary stretch.
Here's the deal: First off, Sarah Palin plays no role as the commander of the Alaska National Guard outside of the state. She never has, she never will. The actual commander--Maj. Gen. Craig Campbell--said so himself:
Maj. Gen. Craig Campbell, adjutant general of the Alaska National Guard, considers Palin "extremely responsive and smart" and says she is in charge when it comes to in-state services, such as emergencies and natural disasters where the National Guard is the first responder. But, in an interview with The Associated Press on Sunday, he said he and Palin play no role in national defense activities, even when they involve the Alaska National Guard. The entire operation is under federal control, and the governor is not briefed on situations.
According to Global Security, "the governor commands AKNG [Alaska National Guard] while it is not in active federal service. The principal executive officer of DMVA [Department of Military and Veterans Affairs], the adjutant general, is an appointee of the governor." It should be noted, however, that the current adjutant general, Gen. Campbell, was appointed in 2003--more than three years before Palin took office. So she didn't even make the decision determining who would run the Alaska National Guard.
But Tucker Bounds' wildly misinformed performance on CNN Monday leads to a more troubling question: On Sunday, John McCain himself touted Palin's national security credentials by referring to her experience with the Alaska National Guard. So the question becomes this: Does John McCain even know what Sarah Palin's role in Alaska is?
As evidence mounts that she wasn't even vetted by the campaign, the answer becomes increasingly clear: Probably not. Unfortunately for Republicans, this leaves them with a fatally flawed candidate who would likely be a disastrous Commander-in-Chief should anything befall John McCain after the election. Simply put, there's no way that this woman can be allowed to manage a two-front war. After eight years of total defense mismanagement, the troops deserve better than this?
I watched a story last night about Palin and her religious beliefs. I have to say, I would feel good about having someone like her with her values and morals in the White House. But I do agree fully with Dr. Chris that there are only certain things that the White House can actually make an impact on. Health Care, Employment, Education and our Military. The White House cannot control or even make a small impact of the values and morals our children or our children’s children have, or the immoral choices that many Americans make. That absolutely falls in the hands on who has the most influence on people in an everyday situation; schools, churches and parents. It puzzles me why people are making a big deal about areas that do not affect us here at home, or I should say, things that the White House can’t help us with here at home. I would say we need to vote in the candidates that can actually make change happen in the areas that they are able to do so and not just talk about. I don’t know who this is yet, I guess we will all know more after we see the debates. I would say Obama has the upper hand in a debate with McCain, but I feel we should all send Joe Biden some flowers because there is no way I would want to be publically humiliated by Sarah Palin the way he is going to be. She is going to have him for lunch. I can hear Obama and Biden now; you take Palin, no you take Palin, no you take Palin, no I don’t want Palin so you take Palin, no you take………………….

Re: Sarah Palin???
Guys Ifind these posts quite interesting. I would like to see some facts that indicate how Bush has done such a poor job since it seems he is the evil of choosing McCain. Give me some facts on the economy, education, taxes, jobs and tell me how Sadaam should have been handled and how Bin Laden should have been handled. (Note I did say facts ,not opinions, and rhetoric or open ended statements that you can't support).
I also would like to know how you guys justify Obamas experience and have a problem with Palins since she has at least been responsible for the same type issues just on a much smaller scale as the President and Obama has governed nothing that I can find.
What I am looking for are some facts rather than all of this he said she said nonsense and media garbage. I personally can only find a very few facts about this whole election. Enlighten me but be warned I have done a lot of research and payed close attention to what is actully being said and done and I will not hesitate to call your hand on some BS.
I will not do your research for you nor will I post any garbage.

I can see this politics thing fits you Sanford in that if you don,t have any facts you jusy copy the other guy. That's original and the very reason the facts are so hard to be sure of. I ask the same question at work of some of the guys that just keep saying Bush has done such a bad job and basically they said the same thing you did. Nothing

1.He shouldn’t have been elected the first time and only reason he won the 2nd time was because we were in the middle of Iraq war he contrived probably just to get reelected.Rabbithoundjb wrote:Guys Ifind these posts quite interesting. 2.He’s stupid. He can’t talk and is not a good leader. He’s not a role model anyone can look up to. He does not inspire confidence that he is doing a good job or the right thing. Morons and idiots should be barred from public office because they are not able to handle complex tasks such as running the most powerful nation in the world.
3.He has strong ties to Oil and Gas companies, who think the best solution for becoming less dependant on Foriegn Oil is to invade other countries, spend hundreds of billions of dollars and thousands of American lives in a foolhardy task, rather than make a serious investment in next generation fuels.
4.His enviromental policy sucks. He thinks drilling in Alaska Artic preserve is ok. He thinks less restrictions on pollution is ok. He has made no effort to address the Kyoto treaty.
5.He vacations alot, which means he is lazy. He expects other people to the job for him. He always looks to blame other people for his mistakes. (Hurricane Katrina)
6.He is openly Christian and ties his religion too much to his politics. The USA is about equal representation and diversity. We need to work VERY hard on making people other religions feel like they are welcome in our culture. 9/11 and the backlash by anti-western fundamentalists is proof of this. Occupying another nation is NOT the best way to do this.
7.DMCA and the Patriot Act were responsible for the loss of personal freedoms resulting in corporate America and the federal government perscuting the American people unjustly.
8.Very, very bad economic policy resulting in a drastic rise of national debt. Privatizing Social Security is a really bad idea.
9.Other countries do not respect him. He is a poor representation of the quality of people who should be leading this nation.
10.Finially, I think he is a horrible president because he starts things but doesn’t finish them (Afganistan/Bin Laden) and also he makes bad decisions and doesn’t admit to them (Iraq).
Re: Sarah Palin???
The president and his party take the blame when the electorate is upset about two main issues: 1) war, 2) the economy. All of the free world knows that the Iraq war was based on lies. All of the free world knows that Bin Laden was responsible for 911, and that there has been no serious attempt to pursue him. This has been a war with other agendas in mind and that’s why what started out as a war against terrorism with multiple countries from around the world involved, quickly turned into an “America war agenda only” with most other countries bailing out fast when all the lies came out with Bush’s reasons being “911” changed to “weapons of mass destruction” changed to “free a suppressed country” changed to “war on terrorism” and through it all, Bin Laden was not pursued. Bush gets the blame for the war. Economic problems always have multiple causes, but this economy has been taken down largely by a blow up in credit. The president gets the blame here too, because the executive branch is responsible for bank and brokerage oversight through groups like the FDIC and the SEC. Those guys were asleep at the switch, when they should have been looking out for American’s interest.Rabbithoundjb wrote:Guys Ifind these posts quite interesting. McCain will continue existing policies on the war and the economy. Can't see why anyone would want that.
Also:
1. Iraq war disaster.
2. Tax breaks for the top 5%, at the expense of everyone else.
3. Tax breaks for oil companies.
4. Failure to address falling economy.
5. Failure to address what many consider to be the biggest long-term problems in the US (health-care, education, employment, jobs/factory’s going out of the country, social security, etc.)
6. Record deficit.
7. Unbalancing the Supreme Court.
8. We have lost credibility and respect/fear from the rest of the world because of a weak, dishonest and ignorant president. Around the world, America has become the punch line of every joke in every language because of Bush.
A Democratic win will start to heal these wounds in America, and once again gain credibility throughout the world.

If someone as blasphemous as Obama is the next leader of our country, God help us all. Nobody is perfect, but for someone to profess Christ as his savior and to be tied to as much garbage as he is? It is hard not to judge someone, but that pretty much what you have to do in a time of an election. You know a Christian by his fruit, not by what he says. Obama is a smooth talker, but I'm not seeing much fruit.
If you were on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

TC you are exactly right NO facts just more opinions, nice to hear but amount to nothing. I'll give you the deficit it was created under his administation but Dr. Chris you have got to be kidding me about foreclosures and repos and such with the lending agencies. Maybe you should just turn you finances over to the government and let them give you an allowance.
I am amazed one guy who is lazy and on vacation can still do so much damage and noone seems to be able to support what their saying. HMMMMM.
Just be honest if your a democrat and your going to vote democrat so be it. A sure fact is that the country could in a lot worse shape than it's in, that war could be being fought over here.

If a Democratic president had pursued exactly the same policies, and achieved exactly the same tragic results as George W. Bush in the last 8 years, that president would have been the target of a non-stop campaign drive for impeachment by the GOP. He simply does, says, endorses and fully backs stupid things, policies and people.TC wrote:Still aint Seen a FACT one!!!!!

Bush spent some time a while ago with the Iraqi prime minister, Nouri Kamal al-Maliki. They talked about how over the past couple of months Iraqi civilians have been getting blown away at the rate of four or five an hour: Bush quote: "Obviously the violence in Baghdad is still terrible," said Bush, "and therefore there needs to be more troops."
Most people do not get the sense, listening to this conclusion from the commander in chief, that things would soon be under control. There is, instead, a scary sense of “here we go again”. A sense of the president at a complete loss, not really knowing what to do. Do you remember the news covering Bush sitting in a Sarasota, Fla., classroom after being informed of the Sept. 11 attack? Instead of reacting instantly, commandingly, he just sat there for long wasted time, with a lost look on his face, holding a second-grade story called "The Pet Goat."
And then there was the famous picture of Bush, on his way back from a month-long vacation, looking out the window of Air Force One as it flew low over the destruction by Hurricane Katrina. "It's devastating," Bush was quoted: "It's got to be doubly devastating on the ground."
I'll tell you what's devastating, the Bush administration’s facts:
1. Lied about weapons of mass destruction.
2. Unilaterally invaded a sovereign nation without provocation and justification.
3. Lied during State of the Union speech re: Niger Uranium.
4. Responsible for pre-9/11 intelligence failures in White House, CIA, FBI! He was warned and was told but he did nothing! Yes this was Bush, not Clinton.
5. Allowed 9-11 murderers to remain free while diverting precious military and financial resources to his vanity war in Iraq.
6. Lied about Saddam/bin Laden connection.
7. Turned Iraq into a terrorist breeding ground.
8. Lied about nation-building.
9. Opposed creation of 9-11 Commission and Homeland Security Department.
10. Disrespected and alienated the U.S. from French, German and other key allies.
11. Lied to Americans about the real cost of war.
12. Fostered an environment of torture at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo.
13. Lined Halliburton's pockets in Afghanistan and Iraq with fat no-bid contracts.
14. Under-manned and under-equipped our armed forces in Iraq, resulting in unnecessary death and injuries.
15. Ignored the nuclear build-up in both Iran and N.Korea; marginalized Kim Jong Il.
16. Shunned Kyoto Treaty.
17. Lied about effects of man-made pollutants on the environment to support corporate pals.
18. Lied about the insolvency of Social Security.
19. Gave huge cuts to the wealthiest taxpayers.
20. Lied about true cost of health care bill.
21. Lied about Free Trade stand.
22. Bitterly divided the nation along religious, party and sexual preference lines.
23. Guilty of numerous cronyism appointments (Homeland Security, Supreme Court, etc)
24. Rewarded failures of Condi Rice and other cronies with key promotions.
25. Dreadful energy policies lead to record gas and oil prices.
26. Responsible for the largest debt in U.S. history.
27. Colossal failure of preparedness, rescue and relief during Hurricane Katrina.
28. Fostered a culture of corruption among GOP and top leadership (Tom Delay, etc).
29. Allowed Donald Rumsfeld to keep job despite utter failure in Iraq.
30. Presided over the U.S.'s lowest popularity throughout the world.
31. Saw No Child Left Behind fail. He produced the bill himself while he was Gov. of Texas and than got to the White House and cut the throat of his own bill, Stuuuuuupid!
You can invent and make-up all the stats you want but Bush and his whole administration will go down as one of the worst in American history.
The Bush years were horrible and oh yeah and by HIS OWN admittance, McCain himself said he has voted on the side of Bush 90% of the time. You elect McCain it is an automatic 4 more years of Bush. This is not a Democrat or a Republican thing, this is “get the best for America” in now thing. I am sorry if the truth hurts, but it is easy and transparent to anybody that reads this thread, a couple of you are not looking or objectively seeking the best candidates for the greater good of the country, for you it is vote republican or bust and all others are liberal baby killing Democrats that are after your guns. Without even weighing the neg. and pos. I’m not saying Obama is the best choice but I am say you need to think about the whole ball of wax and be pursuing what’s best for the country instead of your cult like view of “vote Republican or bust”.
