WASHINGTON (AP) — The Latest on a data firm that worked with the Trump campaign, tapping Facebook profiles, (all times local):

5:45 p.m.

A data analysis firm employed by President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign tapped the Facebook profiles of more than 50 million users without their permission, allowing it to capitalize on the private social media activity of a large portion of the U.S. electorate, newspapers reported Saturday.

One of the largest data leaks in Facebook history allowed Cambridge Analytica, which had ties to Trump campaign strategist Steve Bannon, to develop techniques that formed the basis of its work on the Trump campaign, The New York Times and The Guardian reported.

Facebook said it suspended Cambridge Analytica over allegations that it kept the improperly obtained user data after telling Facebook it had been deleted.

Facebook is suspending Cambridge Analytica, a data-analysis firm that worked for the---> Trump campaign<--, while it investigates whether the company held onto improperly obtained user data after telling Facebook it had deleted the information.

The social network said in a blog post that the firm violated its policies by receiving user data from a Facebook app created by a University of Cambridge professor.

But while Cambridge Analytica certified in 2015 that it had destroyed the wayward data, Facebook said, the social network received reports "several days ago" that not all the data was deleted.

Cambridge Analytica claims to build psychological profiles based on personal details from millions of Americans that can categorize individual voters. The company has surfaced on several occasions in probes of ----->2016 Russian election interference.<--------

PM, wish you would pipe down on all this, trading the VIX is good money and now if Trump will only fire Mueller things can really get rolling. I'm building dry powder for the recession and my DRIP accounts can buy back more stocks.
If this don't happen now, just wait for the midterms to flip and buy the lows. Ryan and McConnell are gone as they have no soul.
Election times are so exciting for the people.
Oh, did Donald call Val to congrats on the BIGGLY WIN! ? With those nasty sanctions, the interest loan on the new Tower has to have went up.
Happy investing to you...

I've searched and searched to find your expression of congratulations to President Obama when called Putin to congratulate him on his upset victory four years ago. I say upset because Hillary was in Russia attempting to influence the election to unseat Vlad. Wonder if that was the reason Russia was attempting to influence the 2016 election. If Hillary was involved it had to be an upset. She deserves praise because she is reported to be a woman. She hasn't announced her Transgender status yet, to my knowledge.

NOTE TO PM.
Fake News alert: Trump campaign phased out use of Cambridge Analytica data before election
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-camp ... -election/
CBS NEWS: "The Trump campaign never used the psychographic data at the heart of a whistleblower who once worked to help acquire the data's reporting -- principally because it was relatively new and of suspect quality and value. The profiling approach utilized by Cambridge Analytica allowed it to predict the voting likelihoods of individual people based on personality, the firm claimed.

Facebook announced on Friday that the firm -- which is partly owned by billionaire donor Robert Mercer and which was paid $5.9 million by Mr. Trump's 2016 presidential campaign -- has been suspended for violating the social media company's standards and practices.

In late September 2016, Cambridge and other data vendors were submitting bids to the Trump campaign. Then-candidate Trump's campaign used Cambridge Analytica during the primaries and in the summer because it was never certain the Republican National Committee would be a willing, cooperative partner. Cambridge Analytica instead was a hedge against the RNC, in case it wouldn't share its data.

The crucial decision was made in late September or early October when Mr. Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and Brad Parscale, Mr. Trump's digital guru on the 2016 campaign, decided to utilize just the RNC data for the general election and used nothing from that point from Cambridge Analytica or any other data vendor. The Trump campaign had tested the RNC data, and it proved to be vastly more accurate than Cambridge Analytica's, and when it was clear the RNC would be a willing partner, Mr. Trump's campaign was able to rely solely on the RNC."

You guys bitch about Trump, hell the RINOs are still working hand in hand with the Progressives. Name something Trump has proposed that McConnell and Ryan have supported. Those two are as crooked as Hillary and Obama. They just bluster then do nothing.
