If you’re healthy and young, minimizing your exposure to the novel coronavirus is less a health issue than((( a moral ))))) issue. And our supposedly conservative leaders are profound moral failures.

What it shows is that if we can delay the spread of coronavirus, mostly by reducing the rate of exposure, we can “flatten the curve” of the epidemic, thus reducing stress on the healthcare system. The curve of infections will be more gradual, and the health care system can save more lives.

But that depends on healthy young people changing their behavior.

W.H.O. Declares Coronavirus a Global Pandemic IN JANUARY ---- TRUMP SAYS A HOAX,,FOX SAYS. ,,ITS JUST ANOTHER WAY TO GONAFTER TRUMP,, TRUMP SAY ITS A FAKE NEWS THING ,,,,,HE -DID NOTHING FOR ABOUT -8 -WEEK ,,AND ,AND ABOUT 150,000 MORE ,PEOPLE WILL DIE ,,MANY MORE THAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN

(((((((((( As you probably know by now, you will probably get infected sooner or later,))))) and if you’re healthy and young, you will have only minor symptoms, or none at all. But you can still spread the virus to other people who aren’t so lucky.

If you can delay that from happening, you will help prevent our hospitals from being filled beyond capacity, as they have been in China and Italy.

Again, young and healthy people will likely be fine. But people over 70 and those with underlying conditions (including lung diseases, diabetes, and immune problems) have between an 8 percent and 15 percent chance of dying from this virus.

Their lives depend on your behavior.

And chances are, you won’t even know that you’ve infected them. The virus lives on surfaces for three days, and can take two weeks to show up in a test. Meanwhile, you’ll be healthy as a horse and unaware that you’re infected. But you’ll have a one in 10 chance of killing someone you meet. Like those odds?

This changes everything.

It means that you need to make decisions not based on your personal health risk, ((((( but on the risk that you might kill other people.)))))) Of course, your particular decisions depend on the advice of public health officials in your area, as well as your personal circumstances and needs, but the fact that some changes are required is now a moral imperative—not for your sake perhaps, but for others’.

For example, there have been media reports of young people taking advantage of cheap airline tickets to travel around the world. Who cares?, they think, I won’t get sick.

Putting my rabbi hat on for a moment, that is profoundly wrong. This isn’t a personal health decision, like whether to eat healthy food. That’s up to you, and you pay the price for your choices. It’s a collective health decision, like getting a measles vaccine. And other people pay the price for your bad decision.

Just as anti-vaxxers endanger the lives of innocent children, so healthy people who refuse to change their behavior endanger the lives of old folks and sick folks.

In progressive circles, we call that ableist—marginalizing the needs of people whose bodies don’t “measure up” for one reason or another, ignoring the fact that different people experience this epidemic differently, and focusing only on the ‘healthy’ majority.
------------------------------------------------------------------------//////////////
In religious and ethical circles, we call it immoral. And in our country right now,--2--- the rot starts from the ----top.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------////////////

When the president of the United States tells people that the coronavirus will “miraculously” disappear soon and that it isn’t worse than the flu—both verifiably false statements—he is telling people not to worry about it, And saying it is a Hoax ,,as if jingoistic rhetoric and travel bans take the place of social distancing and other protective measures. That will kill people.

When the Fox News network downplays coverage of the coronavirus, blames the “liberal media,” and promotes guests who claim this is all a conspiracy to affect the 2020 election, that will kill people too.TRUMPERS

And when Representative Louis Gohmert (R-TX) refuses to self-quarantine after being exposed to coronavirus at a political conference, that can kill people too-----------. (It takes up to two weeks after exposure for the novel 2019 coronavirus to show up in a test. During that time, there’s no way to know if you have it or not.)

I can’t think of a more immoral act than--- refusing --to change your behavior when you know you’ve been exposed and that you may be carrying a lethal virus.

It’s a bitter irony that many of those downplaying the risks of COVID-19, and thus actively making those risks worse, come from the conservative side of the political spectrum. TRUMPERS

Because, last I checked, the Bible demands that we take care of the sick, not expose them to further harm. “I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me,” says Jesus to the righteous in Matthew 25:36. And, he continues in verse 40, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered

quote:
ATLANTA, GA—Fooling thousands of readers in a prank that the cable news organization said was "just for fun," CNN published a real news story for April Fools' Day this year.

The story simply contained a list of facts, with no embellishment, editorializing, or invented details. The story also didn't cite shaky "anonymous sources" and only quoted firsthand witnesses to the event. It was completely factual without any errors whatsoever.

Baffled CNN fans immediately knew something was up.

"I was reading this story, and I was like, 'Wait, what is this?'" said one man in New York who relies on CNN for his fake news every morning. "They really got me good. Then I looked up at the calendar and I realized I'd been duped. A classic gag!"

"Those little rascals!" he added, shaking his head and laughing goodnaturedly. "As long as they return to their regularly scheduled fake news tomorrow, we're good. We're good."

Parrot Media, put the blame where it belongs, China!

Huff post Jan 31st article calling Sen Tom Cotton out

For trying to get people woke on China. This didn’t age well.

Don’t Listen To Sen. Tom Cotton About Coronavirus
The GOP senator has spread misinformation and panic in a weeks-long meltdown over the disease.

By Nick Robins-Early

Sen. Tom Cotton
Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) has been on an absolute tear about coronavirus, calling for all Americans in China to “get out now,” demanding the U.S. implement an extensive travel ban targeting China proposing a “Manhattan Project-level effort to create a vaccine” ― a reference to the undertaking that produced the atomic bomb during World War II.

Cotton also suggested the coronavirus could have come from a Chinese “super laboratory that works with the world’s most deadly pathogens,” boosting a debunked fringe theory circulating among tabloids and conservative media outlets. The conspiracy has gained attention on social media and appeared in a dubious article on right-wing site The Washington Times, whose single named source for the claim was a former Israeli military official suggesting the virus could be linked to a biowarfare program.

“I would note that Wuhan (the province where the ailment was first reported) has China’s only biosafety level-four super laboratory that works with the world’s most deadly pathogens to include, yes, coronavirus,” Cotton tweeted.

Health experts have rejected the suggestion that the virus is the result of some sort of bioweapon or other manufactured cause, calling it unfounded and nonsensical. A laboratory is located in Wuhan, but it’s a city of over 11 million and no proof has surfaced that the lab has any connection with the outbreak.

It’s a ridiculous assertion,” said Dr. Michael Mina, assistant professor of epidemiology and immunology at Harvard University. “All signs point to a pathogen that has been circulating in animals and jumped to humans. It’s pretty common for these viruses and there’s no good reason for him to be saying something like that.”

Although Cotton’s views break with medical experts, they’re in keeping with his longtime opposition to the Chinese government, which he has called an “evil empire.” Cotton’s legitimate criticisms of China’s human rights record have morphed into his unfounded allegations against Beijing for failing to stop the spread of coronavirus through a “deadly combination of Chinese duplicity and incompetence.” China should face “serious consequences” for the outbreak, Cotton told Fox News.

But China has actually been fairly quick to address the virus and to alert international officials to the problem, according to health experts, and has as shared information on the virus that has helped epidemiologists study and track it. Although officials have expressed concerns about transparency around China’s handling of the outbreak, international health organizations and U.S. officials have largely praised China’s reaction to the crisis.

“They have done everything that you could hope for and is current-day standard practice that would be done in any other country,” Mina said.

The U.S. has also exercised extensive caution in handling the crisis, and on Friday the government quarantined 195 Americans who recently flew home from Wuhan.

The state department has issued travel warnings about trips to China, and on Friday several major U.S. airlines announced a suspension of all flights to the nation’s mainland. Some countries surrounding China, including Russia, Mongolia and Singapore, have taken steps to shut down their borders.

The outbreak has resulted in massive amounts of disinformation, viral social media falsehoods and online grifters attempting to cash in on the virus. Some conspiracy theorists have even promoted drinking dangerous bleach as a cure.

The virus has also led to anti-Chinese sentiment in numerous countries, prompting local officials and community organizations to denounce surging racism against Chinese communities.

“Misinformation around these outbreaks is definitely a problem,” said Dr. Tara Kirk Sell, senior scholar at Baltimore’s Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security. “When we undermine trust and get in the way of a public health response, those things can be really dangerous and really bad for trying to stop an outbreak.”

Health professionals and journalists have attempted to push back against the torrent of false information, debunking many of the myths around the virus and its origins. Although the outbreak is a global health emergency that has killed over 200 people and requires serious action, many infectious disease experts have urged patience while they assess the true dangers of the outbreak and cautioned against the kind of fearmongering that Cotton has embraced.

“Panic is never a useful thing to elicit in a population ... and anyone who’s doing that probably shouldn’t be in a public policy office,” Mina said.
I bet Mina hasn't resigned his position.

Newt you know what is so obvious here, when Trump did the travel ban, OMG he was a racist, it was over the top. Now he didn't act fast enough. He!! he has only been trying to get our buisnesses back here, our borders secured, illegals, human traffickers and so out of the country or locked up since he was elected. maybe if the leftist establishment rino's and democrats hadn't spent 3 years focused solely on getting rid of this guy with hoaxes and conspiracy theories just maybe the country could have been better prepared.

The efficiency at which President Trump runs the government scares the panties off the political establishment.
They tried to neuter him with the fake collusion and impeachment, but it hasn't worked. He just gets stronger and more popular. His handling of the the "Kung Flu" has further demonstrated his leadership. He has bee so impressive that CNN and MSNBC have began to cut away when Trump is addressing the nation. They don't believe the citizens should be allowed to view and make up their minds.
The Fake media believe most citizens should be like PM. They will tell them what to believe.
