NEW YORK — An estimated 80,000 Americans died of flu and its complications last winter — the disease’s highest death toll in at least four decades.
The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Robert Redfield, revealed the total in an interview Tuesday night with The Associated Press.
Flu experts knew it was a very bad season, but at least one found size of the estimate surprising.

According to new estimates published today, between 291,000 and 646,000 people worldwide die from seasonal influenza-related respiratory illnesses each year, higher than a previous estimate of 250,000 to 500,000 and based on a robust, multinational survey.
The new estimate, from a collaborative study by CDC and global health partners, appears today in The Lancet. The estimate excludes deaths during pandemics.
“These findings remind us of the seriousness of flu and that flu prevention should really be a global priority,” says Joe Bresee, M.D., associate director for global health in CDC’s Influenza Division and a study co-author.

It is nothing new that a wanta-be dictator and his minions discredit and remove anyone who disagrees with their flawed program to overthrow democracy. Now with the virus numbers approaching 1,000,000 infected and 50,000 deaths in the US, it seems only a month ago 15 cases would go to 0, there will be no virus in the Fall, all lies against humanity. He waits for the great State of Georgia to prove how wrong he is, then he will blame it all on the Governor when it fails, it's the way of the King of deniers and his follower deflectors.
I watched Fox entertainment last night and was surprised to hear some talk of reason, not from the loyalist of course, they couldn't say "crap" of they had a mouth full of it. But they liked all the money that flowed out to businesses that didn't need it and are looking forward TARP 4,5,6&7, coming ahead. They didn't even mind talking about a $15 dollar minimum wages to get all that money, they said 23 trillion in national debt is not that much and we can grow our way out of it. Lots of big talk about robots and AI doing our jobs, they will still need us to clean up after the robots, so we'll still have jobs, just no good paying jobs.

I watched the Covid 19 update and knew when he made the remark he was going to be misquoted and attacked. He made the remark to a Dr. as a question to the DR. He is neither a politician nor a Dr. He is not schooled in double talk and Lawyer speak, he just says anything that pops into his mind and Fake News bends it to suit their agenda.

Foxglove is deadly plant in the flower garden. Its also known as "Digitalis" for folks with irregular heartbeats.
A couple decades ago who would have believed they would now be putting stints in heart arteries or doing surgery on babies that are still in the uterus.
I'm sure the President is aware that he is not in the know of all medical treatments available. One day we may be ingesting devices that emit disinfectants or ultraviolet rays.

The day prior, the head of the FDA, if I remember correctly, was under attack for saying "the rebound of Covid 19, in the Fall would be worse than our present situation. He plainly said, "I didn't say that. I said that the rebound coupled with the usual flu out break in the fall could be a catastrophe". He was urging folks to get a flu shot so there would be less confusion if there was a Fall rebound, in order to make a quicker more accurate diagnosis and correct treatment.
The next day on local news, NBC affiliate, they played a clip put out by NBC News, where they clipped a portion of a sentence from the explanation that indicated the FDA Directer was confirming their false story. They also had one of their fake talking heads confirming the narrative.
Thankfully we have "Freedom of the Press. If not we would only have Fake News twenty four hours seven days a week.
