I understand your concerns Rufus. I have lost quite a bit in my 410K and it has droped $10,000 in the last week alone. I am hoping that whomever gets elected gets the economy straightened out.
I think this may all be orchestrated to do away with the dollar and institute the Amero....similar to what was initiated in Europe with the Euro. I don't like a lot of what I am seeing and feel this is a non-partisan effort to form a North American Union (USA, Canada, Mexico).....again similar to the European Union, then ultimately a One World Govt. or New World Order. There is a lot of info about all this on the net and I am starting to believe much of what I am reading.
So, in short, I don't think it will go away until the money folks who run the world achieve their vision for the world. I just expect it to get worse before it gets any better. Hopefully, I will be wrong but I just don't have a warm fuzzy filling about the future of the USA at this point in time. Until "We The People" elect a third party candidate that has the United States as a sovereign power in mind I feel we will continued to be played by a two party system or good cop/bad cop mantality. The good cop I guess is whichever candidate one feels is more worthy than the other. Google the history of the CFR and it should take you to other key links as well to what I am writing about.

Pike Ridge, you may be closer to the truth than you think...SOMETHING drastic has to happen for the people of this country to accept a North American Union, and financial disasters such as this one would be enough if it happened often enough. Those of us that believe what the Bible says about the last days according to the Book of Revelations and other prophetic books (Ezekiel, Daniel, etc...) have to remember that the US isnt mentioned prominently in any of those. However we are too powerful of a nation to be ignored by the rest of the world when the Beast and False Prophet start influencing things in the world arena.

All I know for sure is that we ALL woke up in a Socialist country yesterday morning...a bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddy Mack was the WORST thing we could have done. AIG next, a PRIVATE insurance company has also had their collective asses brought out of the fire...now we have Detroit looking for over 50 billion in handouts, where does all this end??

This has happened because of the touchy, feely crap that so called progressive thinking has gotten us into. People that cannot afford to buy their own house should have NEVER been given loans, yet the Government in its infinite stupidity said that was "unfair" to poor people and therefore forced these mortgage companies to give loans to people that could not afford to pay them back. Now these people have defaulted on loans, the mortgage companies are going broke and here comes GOVERNMENT to the rescue....

Please remember people, GOVERNMENT DOES NOT HAVE MONEY OF ITS OWN....ITS OURS AND WE ARE ALLOWING THEM TO WASTE IT.

I read today that two of Obama's top advisors are also executives that brought Fannie Mae and Freddy Mack to its knees...
Thats poetic isnt it??/

You boys sure have a way of putting your own spin on things.
The mortgage loans were not forced on the banks, the restrictions were lifted to allow more risk/reward and the banks admitted they played it for all it was worth, to max returns for their BIG investors, people loved it as long as the borrowed money lasted but the balloon has now popped, time to pay the piper. The news was out long ago, Americans would have to spend 125% of what they made to hold the economy where it was at, many knew it was going to blow-up in our face but hey, let the good times roll.
I love all the finance experts coming out of the wood work now telling the flaws of the flagrant lending but not one Rep/Dem seemed to know or admit before the blow-up that anything was wrong, the market greed was loving the blood they were feasting on, now the light is being shined upon them and they are getting burnt for the blood suckers they are...The royal fat cats have their bellies full and are resting while the little shareholders and taxpayers are left to prop up the floor of the house... Remember, he who hold the purse strings is boss, we little ones are just along for the ride. These big boys all own major blocks of each others Co's for voting power, they are all on each other's board of directors, banks, insurance Co's, oil, gas, utility, they all, one washing the other's hands. America is green pasture to them to feed on, if grass is greener some where else, they move to feed there, they owe you nothing! There is not one candidate or the other going to make a difference in the way the system it set up, the only difference is which party will get the spoils when elected. It is a system divided, I don't know what it would take to bring them together again, all I know is, we pay for it... :(

Glad we are seeing the same picture Rufus. One thing we can agree on I believe... and that is we both love our hounds. Politics and religion are pretty touchy, but can make for some entertaining reading. I think we all have a patriotic heart and I doubt anyone on either side is satisfied with the cards we have been dealt. But, what the heck....I am laying my treasures up in Heaven, not here in Hell on earth. Thank God for hounds Ruf, thank God for hounds.
Looks like George Orwell 1984 was prophetic, LOL.

Hope you get to feeling better Rufus.
I think until this country quits turning its back on God, we will only see more judgement to come.
Trust me, I am no saint but I see so much disregard for anything decent , let alone holy left in this country. Remember, this country was founded on "In God We Trust." Our forefathers had it correct. The politicians today have it all wrong.

dont forget a few years ago the government bailed out the airlines also, the airlines are no better today because of it. since the dollar isnt backed by the amount gold the country has anymore its just worthless actually . Yes the government / states, own your home, autos, just stop paying your taxes and see what happens to you and your family, the government will collect. the government is a beast that is out of control when the government open free trade with communist countries like china and jobs move there from the U.S. its all about profits. Remember when Ronald Regan and this government made the air traffic controll go back to work, that was a huge red flag for the the america. but we the people just remain silent, what can we actually do and its going to take we the people cause a handfull wont get this government attention.

Try this website as well...this is how our Government "persuades" mortgage companies to allow lending for less than qualified applicants...had nothing to do with risky investments in and of itself, it was GOVERNMENT insistance upon implementation of this act which caused lending institutions to begin the practice of unqualified applicants getting house loans...

Sorry, Didn't mean to seem like I was making fun. You are entitled to your opinion but, I think your sitting pretty high in the saddle on your reply comments also, are you not?
I am only going on what the banks have admitted to. I certainly don't want to cause ill feelings over the spillt milk.
The degree & total percent of risk I have to believe was left to the banks discretion, otherwise, this is no different than the Gov. driving Edison into bankruptcy, on deregulation in Ca. and Enron never happened...
