OBAMA 'I'm not trying to kill Grandma"

I know Obama spent a lot of time during the election trying to dispell the notion of the "death panel". He repeatedly stated that he was "not going to kill Grandma." Sounded legit at the time didn't it.

I was approached today by the public administrator of the county. The public administrator is an elected position that takes care of the elderly, abused, or those not capable of taking care of themselves, and who have noone to help them. She is the court appointed guardian of all seniors or mentally handicapped in the county who end up under guardianship of the court. She wanted some legal advise. She stated that she had been through training with the Department of Health and Senior Services over the past week. She showed me a purple card. It was small and had small lettering containing an unreal amount of writing on it. As I looked at it, I realized that it was a "Do NOT resuscitate" declaration. It had a place to be signed by a doctor, and one for the person (or the persons guardian). Gei this - as part of OBAMACARE, the DHSS has issued these cards to all hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living centers, and public administrators. The Department of Health and Senior Services is demanding that the public administrators sign these cards for ALL persons under their control that is over 60 years old. According to DHSS, ANY PERSONS OVER 60 YEARS OF AGE, WHEN RELEASED FROM A HOSPITAL OR PLACED IN ANY FORM OF ASSISTED LIVING WILL BE ASKED TO FILL OUT THIS CARD! THE CARD DOES NOT HAVE TO BE EXPLAINED TO THEM, THEY ARE TO BE TOLD THAT THEY SHOULD SIGN IT TO HELP E.M.S. PERSONNEL.

I could not believe what she was saying and told her that she was exaggerating. She brought out the paperwork handed out by DHSS. OSAMACARE being passed made this a law! I showed this paperwork to my wife who works on an ambulance. She told me that anyone having this card would be screwed. She said that if she showed up to an elderly person's house and they were unconscious, she would not be allowed to touch this person. She would have to let them die! That's a horrible price to pay for leaving the hospital and being over 60. I looked at the paperwork from DHSS and also found that OSAMACARE makes it illegal to sell purple cardstock>

The reason for not selling purple card stock. Because medical personel and first responders are now going to be required to search the person and resident looking for the purple card and other purple cards would make this confusing.

It was right in the paperwork - hospitals are to get seniors (over 60) to sign these cards by telling them that it is for the protection of E.M.S. personnel.

Their not just trying to kill grandma, their trying to trick grandma into giving up her right to medical care. I am NOT making this up, I saw the paperwork, I saw the cards, I saw the memo to the public administrator demanding that she fill these out for those under her guardianship.

I didn't know that 60 was that old.

Ok this DNR Card has been around Since the early 80s BUT the NEW part is making the health care provider or representative Sign it....Up Until the NEW health care plan Was passed it Was An ELECTIVE procedure not MANDATORY All State Employed or Elected Representatives that are responsible for the health care of patients Whos Health care is mandated/Regulated by the state are Required to Sign the card on the patients behalf.....SOOOOO Legally if YOU are Signed up on medicare or medicad YOU could be Subject to this......
AND it aint just the Elderly if you are COMMITED by the State or Feds and Under THEIR CARE You are Subject to this law also.....

Welll I guess thats ONE way to reduce the Deficit and keep some more of the Social Security money!!!!!

How old are you? Ever have any health problems that could possibly render you unconscious? Because if this is implemented in the nursing homes and custodial care centers, it will eventually make its way to persons under home healthcare, and then loosely interpretated to mean anyone under a doctor's care....which is pretty much everyone 60 years old.

=Let Medicare Die

During a webcast meeting with Organizing for America on Thursday, President Barack Obama outed the covert Republican plot to strangle Medicare to financial death.

He explained to the group that if Congress does nothing, if health care reform fails, "Medicare will run out of money in eight years."

Obama and the Democrats are pressing for health care reform to provide people under 65 with some semblance of what those over 65 have - government-assured affordable medical insurance. At the same time, for Medicare, Obama said, "Part of what we want to do is strengthen it, so it is there over the long haul."

"It is not as if," he said, "if we just stand still, everything is going to be okay."

Immobility is exactly what Republicans want, however. "No change" is their slogan. They've offered zero substantive reform for health care. In the years when they controlled Congress and the White House under former President George W. Bush, they did nothing to repair financial problems with Medicare. In fact, they falsely minimized the price tag of the new prescription drug program, Medicare Part D, and drove up the cost by forbidding government negotiation for lower medicine prices. In addition, although they failed to accomplish it, they pressed to privatize that socialist program called Social Security -- just months before the stock market tanked.

This is philosophical warfare, and for the Republicans, Medicare is an appropriate casualty. The GOP has made it clear they believe the public option being proposed in health care reform is socialism - an evil that must be eradicated at all costs. Of course, Medicare, a government-sponsored health care program for all people over 65 actually is socialist.

It's a slippery slope. First Republicans kill the opportunity for all Americans under the age of 65 to choose their own private insurance or get government-sponsored health care under the public option. Then, by doing nothing, Republicans destroy the ability of those over 65 to retain their government-sponsored health care.

Senior citizens are more frightened about health care reform than anyone else. That may be, President Obama said, because they routinely need health care more than any other group. So lying to them about it, especially for political gain, is cruel and despicable.

It's true, Democrats want change. They seek to reform and improve the health care system so that Medicare is strengthened and funded for the future. For example, Obama noted, under the Democrats' plan, the "donut hole" in Medicare Part D, during which senior citizens must pay for their prescription medications, would be eliminated. President Obama got the pharmaceutical companies to step up and pay more - if Congress manages to pass reform.

A huge portion of the cost of health care reform would come from changes in the way the federal government pays for Medicaid and Medicare. What the Democrats want to change are payment methods that are just wrong. No bid contracts, for example. Introducing real capitalist competition in the system would reduce costs without affecting benefits. "No one is talking about messing with your Medicare benefits," Obama said, attempting in a mere statement to counter screaming "tea baggers" featured continuously on Fox News. Of the Democrats he said, "We think Medicare is a sacred trust."

On health care reform, the Republican plan to do nothing means death. Death for the public option. But also death for Medicare.

President Obama explained: "The status quo is unsustainable. If you like what you have now, unless we make some changes, you are not going to have what you like because health care costs are rising three times faster than wages. . . If you have a private plan, you have something to worry about. If you are on Medicare, you have something to worry about because we are going to run out of money."

Democrats are trying to resuscitate Medicare and deliver health care reform. Republicans are forming death panels to kill all of it

Osama just cut $500 billion from Medicare to give it mainly to illegal immigrants and the lazy. How does this help save Medicare? There is a lot of difference to his political rhetoric (his lies) and his actions. Say one thing to rally votes, do another to prop up his freedom stealing agenda.

Republicans support Medicare, those people over 65, for the most part have worked their entire lives paying into the Medicare and Social Security programs. To me, they are not getting a handout, they've already paid for it. And Osama took $500 billion of it out and gave it to illigals who have not paid in a dime. They have not paid for it, it IS a handout designed to get votes because the seniors do not vote Democrat unless ACORN does it for them fraudulently.
