Murray Energy lays off 150 workers-Coal

Post by Newt »

Obama strikes again.

Let me sort of describe my overall policy.

What I’ve said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else’s out there.

I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.

That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in solar, wind, biodiesel and other alternative energy approaches.

The only thing I’ve said with respect to coal, I haven’t been some coal booster. What I have said is that for us to take coal off the table as a ideological matter as opposed to saying if technology allows us to use coal in a clean way, we should pursue it.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can.

It’s just that it will bankrupt them.

Here is some of your Consequences,

The federal Government ,,should pull any ,,Business liscense immediately ,and ,fine them --every penny they have .No Exception's.

This is the same Responce Republican's, had the last election ,at least Mitch McConnell,John Boeher,Eric Cantor and Most of the other elected Republcan's .

Once again republican's Disgrace America.

LAS VEGAS (CBS Las Vegas) — A Las Vegas business owner with 114 employees fired 22 workers today, apparently as a direct result of President Obama’s re-election.

“David” (he asked to remain anonymous for obvious reasons) told Host Kevin Wall on 100.5 KXNT that “elections have consequences” and that “at the end of the day, I need to survive.”

Here’s an excerpt from the interview. Click the audio tab below to hear even more from this compelling conversation:

“I’ve done my share of educating my employees. I never tell them which way to vote. I believe in the free system we have, I believe in the right to choose who they want to be president, but I did explain as a business owner that I have always put my employees first. I always made sure that when I went without a paycheck that made sure they were paid. And I explained that I always put them first and unfortunately I’m at a point where I’m being forced to have to worry about me and my family now and a business that I built from just me to 114 employees.

“I explained to them a month ago that if Obama gets in office that the regulations for Obamacare are gonna hurt our business, and I’m gonna have to make provisions to make sure I have enough money to cover the payroll taxes, the additional health care I’m gonna have to do, and I explained that to them and I said you do what you feel like in your heart you need to do, but I’m just letting you know as a warning this is things I have to think of as a business owner.

“Well unfortunately, and most of my employees are Hispanic — I’m not gonna go into what kind of company I have, but I have mostly Hispanic employees — well unfortunately we know what happened and I can’t wait around anymore, I have to be proactive. I had to lay off 22 people today to make sure that my business is gonna thrive and I’m gonna be around for years to come. I have to build up that nest egg now for the taxes and regulations that are coming my way. Elections do have consequences, but so do choices. A choice you make every day has consequences and you know what, I’ve always put my employees first, but unfortunately today I have to put me and my family first, and you watch what’s gonna happen. I’m just one guy with 114 employees — well was 114 employees — watch what happens in the next six months.

THe Federal Governmen should Shut This Business Down Immediately.

I'd love to seen the coal companies make an agreement and shut down production for one month starting the week before Christmas, give all their employees a month of paid Christmas leave.
When the lights go out and the heat pumps quit working, call Obama to start his windmill and solar plants

Just like a typical communist! "The government should shut this business down immediately" for what, trying to keep people employed? The federal government has the job of protecting our freedoms and would serve us better by promptly casting you and those like you into exile. Would it have been better if he didn't explain the circumstance to them befor being laid off? He described what would happen if Obama took office and he wasn't lieing to sway votes obviously. He didn't lay them off because of how they voted, because he doesn't know who they voted for. Another correction was they weren't fired, they were laid off so they can collect unemployment and other benefits. It takes a liberal like you to think that the owner of a business, who has historically taken good care of his employees, should not be able to make a profit and support his family. Way to be a good marxist riddled with hate and envy.

I understand what you're saying. I will never buy another vehicle made by UAW members. Plenty of other vehicles made right here in the states by good hard working americans earning a good wage that don't support the current socialist movement and pillage the people.

These types of lay offs are only going to get worse. To many regulations are the cause. Not only are the regulations strict the time line they give on these regulations to be met give the coal industry no time to work out a way to fix the problem. Companies would have to spend a tremendous amount of money in just a little bit of time to meet these regulations that its impossible. The carbon tax is just away for govenment to take money from large companies which is only going to hurt the middle class folks who work in the coal industry. Politicans have ran the chemical industry out of the country and now they are working on the coal industry.

That is just the beginning! There will be many businesses that close up or downsize over Obama care. One of the provisions for Obama care begins at the first of the year.I will be taxed on a $30,000.00 benefits package now! All benefits have to be listed on W-2 forms. This is just the beginning of a disaster! No new taxes or increases except on the RICH!!!! Liar!

You are one pi$$ed of person. It must really be hard waking up pi$$ed of at the world every day and then going to bed pissed off at the world. You are pretty much telling eveyone who depends on coal that you hope they loose their jobs. These people need to work and they have families to take care of. You think of no one but yourself. Yes big companies are GREEDY but you can't bite the hand that feeds you. All of these CEO's have their millions. Its not going to hurt them at all if you shut them down. They will make it, no problem. The people who gets the short end of the stick are the ones who work their a$$ off everyday for these companies and will loose their jobs. Loose their insurance and struggle to pay their bills. So for you to say shut them all down is an ignorant, arrogant thing to say. The only answer for all of us is to draw a welfare, or disability check. Thats what makes the world turn.

That is PM's dream. If they lose their jobs they become dependent on the Gov't and join him and others of the 47%.
