And you say the Dems are coming for your guns? How naive you all are. I don't care what party you support, this is scary stuff right there. While the GOP promotes it's self as "the party of less government" In reality they are more intrusive into peoples lives, then any other party or entity.

Supreme Court Rules that Cops DO NOT Need a Warrant to Search Your Home

In another devastating blow to freedom, the Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that police don’t need a warrant to search your property. As long as two occupants disagree about allowing officers to enter, and the resident who refuses access is then arrested, police may enter the residence.

“Instead of adhering to the warrant requirement,” Ginsburg wrote, “today’s decision tells the police they may dodge it, nevermind ample time to secure the approval of a neutral magistrate.” Tuesday’s ruling, she added, “shrinks to petite size our holding in Georgia v. Randolph.”

Georgia v. Randolph was a similar case the Supreme Court addressed in 2006, in which a domestic violence suspect would not allow police to enter his home, though his wife did offer police consent. The police ultimately entered the home. The Court ruled in the case that the man’s refusal while being present in the home should have kept authorities from entering.

“A physically present inhabitant’s express refusal of consent to a police search [of his home] is dispositive as to him, regardless of the consent of a fellow occupant,” the majority ruled in that case.

The majority, led by Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr., said police need not take the time to get a magistrate’s approval before entering a home in such cases. But dissenters, led by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, warned that the decision would erode protections against warrantless home searches. The court had previously held that such protections were at the “very core” of the 4th Amendment and its ban on unreasonable searches and seizures, reports the LA Times.

According to the AP, Justice Samuel Alito wrote the court’s 6-3 decision holding that an occupant may not object to a search when he is not at home.“We therefore hold that an occupant who is absent due to a lawful detention or arrest stands in the same shoes as an occupant who is absent for any other reason,” Alito said.

Your mistaken Mr Bluegrass, 5 are conservative republican appointees. Scalia, Kennedy (Reagan) and Alito, Roberts, and Thomas ( Bush) .

You are wrong Big Mike, 1st Bush was not a conservative and obviously one left leaning judge voted with the majority and most likely the middle of the roaders also. I could be wrong but it also sounds like the only legal search is if no one present in the house objects. Your boy Obama is helping Iran get nukes and this is the best you can come up with.

What else would these clowns crow about, 18 trillion in debt, half the poplation on food stamps, worse jobs record since Carter, The consitution being shreaded, the middle east becoming more dangerous everday and obabbler still sucks at golf. Also the under handed way obabbler is lining up the dems future voters.

Well Mike...without getting into a big argument over this it's actually YOU that is wrong...it's generally known and accepted that there are currently 4 liberal votes, 4 conservative votes and one SWING vote...that being Kennedy...as an aside I looked back and couldn't find the post where YOU (or any other liberal ) voiced their concern and outrage when Bush appointee and so called conservative Chief Justice Roberts voted with LIBERALS on Obamacare...but I digress.

Let's go with your inaccurate portrayal of the Supreme Court then...that still leaves ONE voter unaccounted for...which liberal judge do you now hate over his or her vote WITH the so called conservatives?

I'm rarely wrong, and am not in this case either. The so called "unaccounted for vote, is/was Justice Beyer , though appointed by Clinton , is more to the center then of any of the Justices.

The only reason unemployment has been low (not cut in half) is that peoples benefits have run out and they are not looking for work. Why should they when they can get all the freebees from Obama instead of working for minimum wage.
