Chester is a full 15inch light bluetick, whelped 2-28-09.Chester finished for AKC FC at albion beagle club april 7th 2012 with a win with 39 big males. He has another win also with 39 big males at North Central.Chester has a total of 4 wins (all under different judges),a second, and a third.Chester had a nice win at java village,NY,running hare for the fist time.He finished in 1 year of trialing (10trials) making winners pack all but 2.Chester has outstanding track ablity and runs with authority, hes fast and accurate! He works a fast inside out check, when he claims he fires out very fast.He runs with a very fast chop mouth, spit every breath.Chester has good hunt,a superior nose that allows him to run in any condition, and handles very well.Chester to me is a very intelligent hound.Stud fee will be $225 at time of service and a negative brucellosis test a must!Call me John at 419-566-4191,Mansfield Ohio. 2014 Midwest Gundog Federation derby sire of year

Chester is a GREAT hound fast & hard hittin fersure !
I deffinetly plan on breedin to him, Ran withhim inna few trials ,where he got 3rd at Great Miami. He really ran good that day, it was hot n dry & they were picking up dogs one after another down to Sonic, Ohio Reggie ,& Chester on the ground! it was pretty much the three all winners pack & He ran good earlier the day & just got stronger as the day went on. He is built VERY,VERY well & is a Beautiful hound!

Nice hound & pedigree; I put the last win on FC Branko's Lumber Easy Rider for the late, great Marvin Bowman. He died of cancer shortly after Rider finished. Marvin was one of the greatest men I've known in beagling. Rider was an awsome dog; I still remember Marvin crying over the phone when I told him Rider had won & made FC at Western Ky. Marvin was too sick to be there. Blitz was also a great hound. I think Scott Music 's FC Jada was from that cross as well. Ninja Blue Boy was a great hound too. He was the only direct Blue Ninja offspring to finish in the Mid-West. Congrats on your success with Chester. He should produce well with his great bloodline & ability in the field.

Just seeing Easy Rider in Chester's pedigree brought back some memories... I dug through some Better Beaglings & Marvin Bowman & Easy Rider are on the cover of the January 2005 issue.

I have not had the opportunity to get on here and comment about any of the stud dogs. I do get on occasionally and bump up a stud owned by someone I know and consider to be a gentleman and hounds-man (I am sure there are many more than I know). Although I have not trialed a dog in a long time I do attend a few trials just to look at what is being run. To determine how good a rabbit dog is I would rather see it run in a more hunting like situation where I can see more rabbit and the dogs reaction to the marked line.

Well, Today I got to run with John Brightbill and his newly crowned Field Champion Hornbills Topfuel Chester.

Considering Chester just finished in the highly competitive Mid-West (in less than a year!!) I was pleasantly surprised to see how close and clean he ran. Chester ran with many qualities that I look for in a quality hunting dog. He came out of a check not only with authority but with accuracy and focus while also demonstrating at other times to have the nose, focus and determination to work out the tougher checks. He handled well and hunted good showing good brain and the desire to catch the rabbit. He is built like a Thoroughbred race horse and very straight.

I would suggest that anyone that is looking to improve their kennel should consider breeding to Chester, he is a very complete package and has a pedigree second to none. I will be breeding a female to Chester in the future to further enhance the traits of my hunting dogs.

Thanks again John for coming down and running your fine hound, you are welcome back any time and I meant what I told you today, I would love to rabbit hunt over Chester a few times next year so bring him down.
