Hi Cindy,
I've got a nice pup coming from Kentucky next month, I've been waiting for her a long, long time. She has alot of black which is my preference.
I am calling her : McGregor's Midnight ole Kentucky Rose. (hubby named her Fanny)
I have so much fun thinking of names and am now trying to write them down as they come into my head.
Cindy who is the little darling in your avatar ?

Thanks for all the name ideas. I think I'm going to name her "windkist Afternoon Breeze" and call her "Breezy" Her grandmother was "Love in the Afternoon" and Mom "Afternoon delight" I'd like to stay with that theme since the beautiful Arienne is now gone (gramma) At one time I placed Arienne in a pet home only to have the people dump her at the animal shelter. Thank god she had a microchip and the shelter called and I was able to get her back. She produced 4 champions after that and passed away last year at 11 years old. I miss her sweet face ;-)

Hi Jane,
Can't wait to see pix of your new girl!! Congrats!!
The Beagle pup in my avatar is a Honey puppy I sold to a "show" home in Mass. Hopefully I will be seeing her out in the middle of the ring getting her win pictures taken soon! Here she is with her two little girls on the day they picked her up :D

Cindy, she's adorable. What a face. I'll bet it was really hard parting with her but then again you probably have them all looking that great anyhow, LOL!! She'll do well.
I've been waiting since mid December, I reserved her before the litter was born and lucked out, there were enough females. And the breeder was so kind to let me pick the biggest blackest female, what a nice guy, huh? I pick her up in Bangor on Good Friday. So it's been a bit of a wait but I would rather her be bigger and stronger for the flight. Kentucky is so far away. The ironic thing is in the past, he bought 2 females from here, LOL! and this is out of a hound up the street and a Cape Breton NS hound.

When I can no longer RUN and catch hounds in the woods, etc..... I'd like to slowly venture to the show ring but the only thing I feel about that is ~ it would be overwhelming to learn what you would have to know. So that being said, the field work I am doing now, I consider easy.
I have attended some small shows when they come here. What you must go through to train a hound for a ring, buff and clean, etc. would be very stressful. I don't think alot of people take all that work into consideration. Plus to know exactly what to look for in a pup, and to bring it up to the standards that you have in order to be the best, wow.
So if there are any books, videos, sites, etc to that, feel free to pass that along. It would take alot of work. I think people assume they are just pretty like that all the time.. nothing to do but just prop them up there and run them around.
Reading material while I am out running hounds would be a good idea. Since I'm out there for hours on end.

I haven't had a new picture of her since she was about 2 weeks old. And now she's what 8 weeks...... she'll be half grown !!!!
(Hope she's All of the 15 inches I asked for too ! LOL )

Jane, The UKC shows are much less stressful and much more fun in my opinion while you are trying to learn. Try finding some and see how it goes ;-)
