Hello I live in Western PA and just picked up a beagle girl that I am going to have registred with the UKC. Really interested in showing her, any tips will help. Not sure how tall she is yet have not measured her. She will be 1 in June.
Thanks
Samantha

Welcome Samantha!
Can you post a picture of her?
Have you looked into any handling classes?

Hey Samantha! She's a sweet looking puppy..the first thing you gotta do is get that halter off of her if you can. It will wear down her coat weird

Do you have a fenced in yard or does she have to be chained?
Also, she looks a little "down in the pasturns" so if you can get her on a regular light exercise routine and make sure you are feeding her a premium diet (Purina Pro Plan or better) that might help straighten her legs up. You'll need some handling classes too...which should also help you find someone to show you how to trim a beagle for the ring.
Good Luck!

NO we dont have a fence yet, Have to put one in. I dont think she got a lot of exercise at her old house. WE will get her on a routine, we just switched her to Evo dog food, When we walk her on a collar she chokes herself she needs training
Thanks, I am worried about her petite head maybe she will fill out with age?
Thanks

Well the heads tend to get better until about 18-24 months old BUT it has been my experience that if there is not much there at 6 months there never will be. I am not sure how tough the UKC competition is but AKC is pretty brutal, especially if you aren't one of the regular players (which I am not). If she doesn't star in conformation there is always tracking, obedience, agility and one of my personal favorites, The Couch, LOL.
