Re: Heat em up/Hurry up Male in Southern Wisconsin
I have had numerous inquiries about this dog's solo abilities. I have always run him with a pack, so he has no solo experience. I took him out this weekend to see what he could do solo. The temperature was around 25 degrees, but the snow was old and as hard as a stone. His search and jump were excellent. He started rabbits without any trouble. He ran the rabbit at about a medium speed. His check work was good, but he struggled to turn the corners with the rabbit. With a pack he will occasionally bark out of place. He did not bark out of place when he hunted by himself.
This dog is a good, medium speed pack dog right now. I think that he has the potential to be a good solo dog, but he is going to need a few tracks under his belt first.
This dog is also very friendly and good-natured. My six year old son can take a bone away from him without any aggressiveness.
