it is a russian version of the 30-06 all wood holds 3 shoots has a bayonet. soory for spelling

Sounds like a Russian SKS. It will probably hold a box clip or banana clip with the bayonet taken off. If it's like mine they are much nicer than the Japanese Norinco version, much better detail to workmanship. I head shot a mannequin at 1000 yards on the third try on a bipod using the flip up open sites. Highly modifiable weapon. I bought mine in the box with all cleaning and maintenance kit which fits in the stock, still packed in cosmaline (spelling) from 1951 for $99.00 right before Clinton banned there importation. They have almost tripled in price for an unimproved stock version.
