Looking for a squirrel dog

Post by bluegrass »

Looking for a squirrel dog...I used to hunt years ago with a cur dog and it was a blast...now I have a 15 year old who absolutely loves our beagles and loves to hunt squirrels too...looking for a dog thats already treeing, doesnt have to be a cur, a feist would be fine as well, just something to allow my son to experience what I had as a kid....I live in Michigan but can travel to pick up if necessary.....

Thanks in advance,

Tony

Bluegrass,

Check with Snide from this board. He has Cur hounds. I am not sure how often he is on the board, but he has information on his website. I am sure if he does not have any for sale he can set you up with someone who may. Hope this helps.

Here is his website: http://www.wpkennels.com/

I will have a litter of fiest pups in a few weeks. Both parents are great squirrel dogs . I will be giving some of the pups to good homes.

I would certainly be interested in getting a pup from you, but the problem for me is that I have never trained a squirrel dog and dont exactly know how to do it...I know generally how its done but having never done it I would be at risk of NOT doing it right therefore possibly turning my son away from hunting with a dog....he likes to hunt squirrels now but has no idea of how much fun it is with a dog...do you know of any already treeing???
