I'm looking for a well "TRACKING" breed “DARK” liver & Tan Bloodhound Stud for a possible stud for my female bloodhound "Millie". I'm also looking for a nice young “DARK” Liver & Tan “male” Bloodhound to start training for tracking as I'm volunteering to work with Indiana Dept Homeland Security, SAR and AMA (American Man-trailing Academy). So I need good trackers to work with. All studs & parents of pups must be AKC Register, OFA Certified and have perfect scissor bites and in general “all around good conformation”.

I've found many people that have Bloodhounds, but it is harder finding exactly what I'm after. I'll get there! :thumbup: I just got off the phone with a nice breeder in Georgia. I told them I might be interested in 2 to 4 pups and a breeding to their stud.

Still looking, I'm really having trouble locating AKC Registered Bloodhounds with "proven" tracking back ground, liver & tan in color and master level trackers only. All dogs and or parents need to be OFA Certified and have perfect bites.

It seems all the above is hard to find. To many Bloodhound breeders don't breed the "Bloodhound Breed" for what it was breed for anymore (tracking), most are puppy mill type breeders, pet breeders or plan show breeders. Great conformation is a must, but if the lines aren't proven master trackers I don't want to wast my time or money. Paying 600-1500+ for a pup is to much of a gamble with out the proven "master tracking" lines there, plus the time wasted training a dog and finding they will never get to the master level in tacking. Then to me they aren't even worth a plug nickle.

The resin I want AKC Registered Bloodhounds, is because the pedigrees are able to be traced/tracked a greater distance.

Part of the definition of master level trackers is, running a track that is at least 20 to 24 hours old, has multiple surfaces involved and is 3 to 5 miles or more in length.
