.410 pistol

Post by tinymwoods »

Any one own a .410 pistol? I am looking at buying one and was curious what yall thought of them. I was looking at the 6 inch barrel versus the longer one for ease of carry. What do yall think?

Hmm not sure cuz I've never had one. I used to use a T/C Super 14 with barrels chambered in 22lr and .223 for varmint hunting. But like most of the really nice firearms I've had I fooled it away. Thought about picking up one of the Super Comanche's simply because we can also hunt deer here in Indiana with it.

I've got a TC Contender with a 14" barrel and it works decent. I also have a Magnum Research BFR .410 revolver and that is the best hare hunting gun I've ever had, I don't even carry a rifle anymore for hare. It's got a 7.5" barrel but since the cylinder is another 3" and the frame is a different angle it ends up being almost the same length as a 12" TC barrel. If you don't mind the price I would highly recommend the BFR

I have the T/C Contender with a 10" barrel. 3" # 5 shot throws a very nice pattern out to around 25 yards. I have yet to hit a rabbit with it, but I have only taken one shot at one. It does a nice job on a pizza box. I love the 45 rd out of it, and plan on deer hunting this fall with it, Brian.

If you want one for rabbit hunting you should bypass the hype on the short bbls and go to a T/C Encore with 15 in bbl you wont be sorry once you get used to it
