Feeding hare

Post by 44magman »

Does anybody feed hare in the wild that you just run and do not hunt ? I have put out salt and also rabbit pellets but the hare used the salt but did not touch the pellets but the mice and squirrels got fat on them I was thinking about hay in the winter just wondering if anybody had luck feeding wild hare.

They'll fed on pellets. We've fed them good alfalfa hay, then the squirrels don't get fat. Use a tube feeder for the pellets and put the hay undercover.

They love horsecorn, but once again you have to feed other critters too!
Tallpaul, what are you calling a tube feeder? Can you post a picture?
