As a result of resent events and decisions made by the owner of the
American Rabbit hound Association and actions taken by the Watch
Dog Committee, the Central Virginia Beagle Club in Goochland Va.
has made the following decision.
The Central Virginia Beagle Club has chosen to no longer be
affiliated with the American Rabbit Hound Association (ARHA)
This proposal was made and passed by a unanimous vote of all
members present at the regularly held club meeting on March 14,
2006. We wish to continue to invite our friends made from past
events held by the club to continue to join us in any future events
that we might have. Thank you for your support it has been appreciated
by all of us at CVBC.[

If you dont mind me asking, what were the recent events and decisions made by the owner of the American Rabbit hound Association and actions taken by the Watch Dog Committee?
Did your club run PP or LP?
What registry is your club going to instead?
Our club and several others across the country have done the same thing as your club recently and I applaud you and your club for standing up for what is right. Its just to bad more people and clubs dont follow these examples. There are to many good registeries out there willing to work for the beagler instead of the beagler working for them.
I wish your club the best of luck in the future, im sure it will do well whichever regisrty is chooses to go with. My hats off to you!

Here is an example of what is going on. When a man comes from
another state and writes the club a bad check for the amount of $70.00
and doesn't try to answer his phone or do anything else to make the
money good and the home office says we can't turn him away from
future trials if he has cash and won't stand behind the club and take
away his hound of the year points till he gets the money write then
it seems to me that they are more worried about the man getting
hound of the year point than doing good business and helping out
the various clubs out there. Why should this guy be in the running
for the hound of the year and get there by a bunch of bad check.
That is one example of what is going on. Of course there are others.
This alone wouldn't bring a club to a decision like this that has been
with the ARHA since the time it was started by Evertt Morgan. I am
not picking on the guy in the running for the hound of the year. There
are a bunch of great folks out there in HOY and 99% of them would
never do something like this. Beware Mr. Bad check writer we
know who you are and you got just a little time before everyone else
know who you are if you don't get it right.
