"Sooner Beagle Club is having its AKC/CHB qualifier December 6/7 2003 at a new location. We are in the process of selling the clubhouse in Lexington and have been given rights to the running grounds at Shawnee Lakes area. It is closed all year to gunning and we have never had problems finding rabbits. Lexington WMA was never cooperative with us and other rabbit hunters/trialers. The location was hard to get to and a long way from anywhere. These new running grounds are on blacktop roads except for the last 1/2 mile of gravel to the clubhouse (which is located on the shores of Shawnee Lake. We are about ten minutes from Shawnee, OK which has many motels, a mall and large shopping areas, numerous restaurants (a great town). Directions are: West of Shawnee on Interstate 40 to SH 102. South on SH102 to Lake Road (signs posted here) West on Lake Road 6 miles and 1/2 back north to the lake and Clubhouse. The kennels at the clubhouse are very good.

(These have been approved by the AKC...although I have had word that Chad Nolan will be unable to judge...we have a backup from AR, if that is the case) Dick Hampton (KS) will be the show judge.We are anxious to get Sooner back in the circuit for everyone.....hope to see you there.
