Holmesville PKC Hunt

12/11/05 Holmesville held its first try one PKC hunt. They had 12 dogs that showed up because of weather conditions. I won the hunt, but that was not the highlight of the hunt for me. The highlight of the hunt was a 11mo. pup and a 9 year old boy who made into the finals with me. I had the pleasure of starting this pup for this young man this summer, due to him playing baseball. When I took the pup home to him I told him he had a nice pup and to take care of him. Well he did and yesterday he hunted him in his first hunt and was 2nd in the hunt. This young man's name is Dusty Erwin and his dog's name is The Mighty Ozzie. I think he might be hooked on beagling but he is also a great baseball player. Way to go Dusty and Ozzie.

Congradulations, Thornie. It looks like to me the training you did with the pup paid off in 2 ways. You made a lifelong friend out of the boy and it probably helped the dog you won with.
I am glad to see the interest in PKC beagling in Ohio.
