Well this is the 1st cast I was ever shot at on. It was also the 1st cast I ever got hit in the face with a giant Mary Jane Bud. It was definately exciting. It was more like Boom Boom Boom!!!! I yelled handle your dogs and told hounddog lets get the heck out of this spot.

Congrats to all the winners! Glad to see White Fang Buster win!!! To bad for Upton and his buddy little buddy judge that got him to the finals. The one that said "Handle your dogs" and then kept on scoring. Glad to see that there is justice in the beagling world after all. The same judge that was stoned out of his mind that judged the cast I was in and Screwed me out of the win that was mine. At least that was what the majority of the cast I was on told me at the clubhouse after I signed the score card. I am still somewhat of a newbie to the wonderfull world of beagling, so I don't want to "protest" and be labeled as a troublemaker. This was my first " Big Five" and I am so glad that the hunt was completed in two days instead of the three alowed. Even at the expence of everyone that traveled and spent there hard earned money and spent time on their dogs to send from what I saw one judge per cast, Sober or not. To judge chest high coverage, where you could not tell 20 dogs 5 feet in front of you who was doing what. I was concerned about the New River Beagle club hosting this same hunt next year. But from what I saw and got to experience from this past weekend there is no way we could screw it up worse!!! But hey I didn't protest n I didn't make a fuss so I guess its all OK. If this Is what a Big Five is all about you can keep it. And if I have anything to do with it I can promise it will not be this way at our hunt next year! Was glad to see so many people turn out and glad to make some new freinds as always. If I steped on some toes by saying what I just said then you probly just needed them stomped and I do not not apologise.

No disrespect to the Host club was intended on my last post. Great facility. Great guys. I think we all need as an group need to pay attention to who we send to judge.

Read your post and see what ya mean but its a pretty thankless job to judge and when ya buddy judge it always comes back to haunt ya. Sorry ya thought ya won and did not but sometimes thats just the ways the old ball bounces .Dont give up or get discouraged.

It really bugs me to see people get on hear an bash Judges. Has it ever crossed your mind that what handlers thought they heard is not what the judge said. Sometimes when you are running after a cast it is hard to yell at the same time also with any distance between the judge and the cast it is hard to hear. We had quite a few young judges who helped us judge alot this weekend. We don't need sore losers getting on them & running them off this is why we have such a hard time keeping young guys who are willing to judge, if you feel they made a bad call ask they nicely what they saw then you will know why they scored what they did sometimes it is not the same as what we thought we heard. If they made a bad call find someone that they know & respect to take them off to the side and explain to them what they should have done so they can learn and will know what to do next time. I am sure that there were checks missed or mistakes made but i highly doubt that any of it was flat out cheating.
