How Far is Foreward Progress???

This is for all those licensed ARHA lp judges out there...Here is the scenario: Four dogs in a cast, a rabbit is jumped by dog A, the judge doesn't see which hound jumped, awards no jump/strike points...pack climbs in and runs rabbit towards dirt road, rabbit wheels back on own track and hounds break down in gravel road, except one that no one sees yet. Judge calls dead track to get hounds out of road, the missing hound opens up on the rabbit again while the other three are leashed...The handlers all agree to release leashed hounds and start scoring from the first check. Hounds climb in and there is a check in about a minuite. Hounds break down in check area and Dog B picks up track and runs about 40 feet and sticks her head down in a hole, barking on the track and shutting up when finding hole...Judge calls dead track and awards no check points to Dog B. My question is this, how far is enough for foreward progress??? When the judge is asked, he says "In my opinion, that was not far enough to award a check". But, Dog B ran the track as far as the track would allow...What do you guys think??? Tony

Dog b should have been given check points.
