Last year was our first year as a member of the MidWest Association and the first year to hold a hunt at this State Park and we had a good turn out. We hope that the turn out will be even better this year! All the casts are run on ground that rabbit hunting or dog running is not allowed throughout the year. Last year every cast ran almost nonstop and there was never any shortage of rabbits. I have no reason to believe this year will be any different!

If anyone is planning on renting one of the cabins near the running grounds make sure you bring your own bed sheets or sleeping bags because they dont keep sheets and blankets on the beds. Cabins have heat and A/C and I was told the rent on them is pretty reasonable, around $40 a day I believe.

Aaron,

I'll be coming to this hunt for big males on saturday. How many big males did you have last year?

Oh come on Jeff, I know you got more than just a big male! Load them dogs up and spend the whole weekend with us! Heck if you can get Ralph off his butt you can bring him too! LOL!
I think we had around 25 big males last year.

Do you have the number to reserve the cabins? I know the group with me is going to need two on Wednesday night. :D
Thanks,
Scott

Scott,
The number is 217-452-7133. Probably the best time to catch someone there would be during the day Monday thru Friday.

Hey Aaron, you won't believe it. I'm down to one good dog now. The rest are either with a litter, too old, or too young to compete. If I can get one other male ran up quick, I'll bring him too. He's one of the Warlock males. Ralph on the other hand doesn't have any dogs ran up yet. He's been working alot of overtime. I figure I can sneak in and get a placement since he's down on dog power, you know, kick'em while he's down! LOL! See you soon.

Ryan,
No this isnt the Sesser club. This club is about 30-40 miles West of Springfield.
