I think hounds should be measured sorta like AKC if they measure in they get a official card and they show that when they register..no worries after that....

offical mesurment should be throwed out of akc. i have seen a few hounds way big that were offical measured. it only takes one bad judge to measure. i do like if u make it to the winner pack the hounds have to be measured. and with all the guys around no one will let a big hound through.

2 went out in the Round 2, Cast 9 of the opens that I know of.
I heard that approximately 50 dogs were measured and a total of 6 went out.

Maybe Chip E can give you a better idea.
He was the one doing the measuring on Saturday.

I'd hate to be the guy who finished second in the cast of the hound that went to the winners pack and then was measured out

If you didn't ask to measure a dog at the casting stake it is your own fault.

If they wanted to get serious about measurement, they would measure the winners pack at each hunt. I don't think anyone cares until they get beat, then it is too late.

i think if a dog wins 2 rounds it should not be able to be mesured anymore for that hunt.....if it wins 2 rounds that means 8 different people got to look at the hound and if no one had a proubly with its size then it should be over with...

And why should somebody in the third round be penalized because nobody in the first two rounds enforced the rules?

I was just saying, i think it would stupid for a hound to get messured out in the 3round if it has done made 2 rounds with out any proublys....this is just my opion but u that is like @ssHoles everone has one!

Why dont they just measure each hound before they can enter. UKC does this at every hunt. I would be mad if i got beat by a hound that later measures out. If you are at the stake and all dogs appear similar in size no one is going to question it. But later on a cast has 4 14inch hounds and one that looks bigger than they might question it.

Why cant the Master of Hounds just do a walk thru and call out what dogs he thinks may be over and have them measured.

I think this would cause a lot less friction between handlers and judges.

There are a lot of people that can be Intimidated by the other in their cast.....
