WHY NOT START A HOY OURSELVES?USE NKC'S NEW POINT SYSTEM,AND INSTEAD OF A WINNER IN EACH CLASS,JUST ONE OVERALL WINNER,CHARGE $10 TO ENTER A DOG FOR THE YEAR,PUT THE $10 INTO A POT,IF 100 DOGS ARE SIGNED UP,THAT IS $1000.00 TO THE WINNER.ELECT ONE PERSON TO RECIEVE THE MONEY AND PUT IT IN A BANK ACCOUNT.SET A DEADLINE,LIKE,FEBUARY 28TH,YOU HAVE TO SEND $10 FOR EACH HOUND YOU WANT TO ENTER,ALL HOUNDS MUST BE ENTERED BY THAT DATE,NOW,SINCE POINTS ARE AWARDED THE SAME FOR EACH CLASS,IF YOU SIGN UP A HOUND AND IT IS AN OPEN,LETS SAY HIS NAME IS OL BLUE,WELL BLUE EARNS 200 POINTS AS AN OPEN THEN HE CHAMPIONS OUT IN JULY,AND EARNS ANOTHER 200 AS A CHAMP,AND GRANDS IN OCTOBER,AND EARNS 200 BY DEC.31ST AS A GRAND,WELL,WE ADD ALL POINTS TOGETHER,THIS WAY YOU DO NOT LOOSE POINTS WHEN YOU MOVE TO THE NEXT CLASS.SO,AT THE END OF THE YEAR,OL BLUE HAS A TOTAL OF 600 POINTS.

YOU MAY SIGN UP AS MANY HOUNDS IN YOUR KENNEL THAT YOU WANT.$10 PER HOUND.

ONLY THE PONITS EARNED BY THE HOUND COUNT,THERE ARE NO 25% HERE.WHEN NKC LISTS THE TOTAL POINTS EARNED AT THE END OF THE YEAR,WE LOOK AT THE LIST AND FIGURE OUT WICH DOG EARNED THE MOST POINTS AND THEN THE OWNER OF THAT DOG WINS THE MONEY.

SINCE THE POINTS ARE ADDED FROM CLASS TO CLASS,THERE IS NO REASON TO WORRY ABOUT SCRATCHING,SO,THERE WILL BE NO RULE PERTAINING TO SCRATCHING BECAUSE YOU POINTS ARE ADDED TOGETHER ALL YEAR.

IF YOUR DOG DIES,YOU LOOSE YOUR $10,BUT,YOUR POINTS STAY ACTIVE,IF NO DOG TOTALS MORE THAN THE DOG THAT PASSED,THE OWNER OF THE DECEASED DOG STILL RECIEVES THE CASH.

IF YOU SELL A DOG THAT YOU ENTERED,YOU FORFEIT YOUR ENTRY FEE AND POINTS AND THE PERSON THAT BOUGHT THE DOG IS STILL IN THE RACE,WHOEVER OWNS THE HIGH HOUND AT THE END OF THE YEAR WINS THE CASH.

NOW,IN THE EVENT OF A TIE,THE OWNERS OF THE HOUNDS THAT ARE TIED CAN EITHER SPLIT THE CASH,OR CHOOSE TO HAVE A TIE BREAKER CAST WITH THE TWO OR THREE OR HOWEVER MANY DOGS ARE TIED.

TO DO THIS WE WOULD HAVE TO MAKE SURE NKC IS PLANNING TO LIST ALL THE DOGS TOTAL POINTS AT THE END OF THE YEAR,MINUS THE 25% THEY ARE ADDING IN.

WE COULD EITHER HAVE A CUT OFF DATE,OR ONLY TAKE A CERTAIN NUMBER OF ENTRIES LIKE 100 HOUNDS,BUT THE MORE HOUNDS SIGNED UP,THE MORE MONEY TO THE WINNER.

ANY ONE INTERESTED?

CAN WE EVEN DO THIS?IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN STOP US FROM LEAGALLY DOIN THIS?

CAUSE IF IT WHERE IN JUST ONE PERSONS NAME AND IF THAT PERSON WHERE TO DIE OR SOMETHIN,THEN WE HAVE A PROBLEM.

I AM SURE A BANK CAN OPEN A SAVINGS ACCOUNT OR SOMETHING FOR THE HOY FUND,JUST THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO PUT A COUPLE PEOPLES NAMES ON IT TO BE ABLE TO DRAW IT OUT AT THE END OF THE YEAR TO PAY THE WINNER.

I DONT SEE WHY NKC WOULD HAVE A PROBLEM,IF ANYTHING,IT WOULD PULL MORE PEOPLE IN TO HUNTS,AT LEAST THIS WAY,ONE OF US WOULD GET SOME MONEY BACK AT THE END OF THE YEAR.

I CAN CALL JOYCE TOMMORROW,MAKE SURE THEY ARE PLANNIN ON POSTIN THE POINTS AT THE END FOR ALL THE DOGS,IN THE MEANTIME,IF ANYONE ELSE IS INTERESTED,SAY SO,PLUS,CONTACT PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT ON THE FORRUM.IF NKC IS OK WITH IT,WE CAN POST IT ON ARHA WEBSIGHT.

THIS COULD END UP BEIN A BIG PRIZE FOR THE WINNER AT THE END.

How many trialers really go after Hound of the Year ? I thought about it I bet you only have a couple dozen that really hit it hard year in and year out.

HARD TO TELL,BUT IF YA THINK ABOUT IT,YA GOT 30 DOGS IN THE TOP TEN,TEN PER CLASS,THEN YA GOT THE OWNERS OF THE DOGS THAT DID NOT MAKE IT.

AND THE NEW POINT SYSTEM GIVES EVERYONE A CHANCE,THE GUYS THAT ONLY HIT BIG HUNTS AND THE GUYS THAT ONLY HIT CLUBS.

THING IS,IF 30 GUYS PARTICIPATE AND SIGN UP 3 DOGS EACH,THERE IS 900 BUCKS RIGHT THERE.

I BET IT WILL BE MORE THEN THAT.

JUST A THOUGHT,THAT WOULD DRAW MORE IN I THINK,GIVES YA TWO CHANCES TO CASH IN,OF COURSE,WE WOULD HAVE TO SET A FEW BUCKS ASIDE TO PAY JUDGES FOR OUR RUNNOFF,BUT LIKE BRAD SAID,WE NEED TO POUND OUT THE DETAILS.

Hey Danny here is a little . How about making in the form of a raffle . Take the total $$$$ pay back 2/3 to your winner and use the remaining $$$$ for a donation to a charity maybe like the juvenile diabeties fund . That way it is somewhat a charity raffle and nobody will mess with charity . If you would choose to do it for the diabeties fund it could be set up to be awarded at the diabeties hunt .

i thought i went to far with the thought of a runnoff,now you really lost me

nkc is already givin money to charity and scholarships,we need to keep this simple as possible if we do it,so,lets just go with the high hound,one winner,then if it can be done,and nkc doesnt giv us a runnoff later,then maybe a runnoff next year.

i can check my local bank and see what we would have to do to set up an account,then talk to nkc and make sure we aint steppin on any toes or gonna get jailtime,then go from there.

If it's all about money, why not hunt the PKC beagle format.
