the way i see it is this, judging the hoy runnoff is concidered an honor,it should go to the guys that put in the time and judged and attended hunts.ron and i have had our differences lately, but,he is a good judge as much as i hate to admit it,but,i know of 8 good active lp judges that called the guy that takes care of the list and asked to be put on the list to be considered, but, thier names where not passed on to the powers that be,2 or them where told the list was full 2 months ago, yet, the guy was calling guys up to a week and a half before the list came out asking them to judge because he could not find enough.sounds to me like the guy put who he wanted in there to judge,i would trust any of these guys to judge my hound any day, but,i think the honor of judgin the runnoff should be for active lp judges.jmho

Hey take it easy on Danny he has had a long bad weekend . He is just getting home from the hunt. Had to spend almost 3 days to find a missing hound I spoke to him at 7:30 this evening he had just got his dog . I bet he is relieved I know what it feels like I've lost dogs before . The tracking collar what a great invention

Sorry to hear he lost a dog. Always hate that. Glad you were able to find him. Just knew it was a matter of time before he or someone else would have something to say about this topic.

needless to say,it was a hot topic at the hunt this weekend, quite a few unhappy judges that where denied the oppertunity to judge it.

Well, gentlemen.. We do the best we can every year to put this list together.. It's tough because most of the guys that have hounds in the runoff are our most active judges. We compile a list of nominated judges every year, we pair them up, and we vote on them.. I personally nominated several based on how I believe they conduct themselves as a judge and sportsman. This is also how I cast my vote. I also look at past situations past and present to help me determine how I nominate and vote. You are right.. This should be an honor to be asked, but unfortunately a decision has to be made on 7 primary pairs. Of the entire list I posted I have only heard complaints about 1 judge, but all agreed that he is good at it. Jeff and I pulled our names to allow an additional pair to be primary judges. I wanted to see someone else get a chance to participate.
