Why do people really complain about being "cheated"?

I read a lot of complaints about judges cheating and buddy judging in just about every format. When I start running field trails I seemed to get mad about every weekend becasue I wasn't winning. What I found was I just really didn't understand the rules, and I though I could "hear" everything from a 100yds away. It wasn't until I started judging every weekend that I really understood what kind of dog it took to win in the format I was running in. I also found that some of those judges that I though were cheaters were really good judges, and I always look forward to getting them know.

Think about the guys that constantly complain about cheating judges on here and at the trials. Keep in mind the guy that has never been beat by another dog. If you could pick one reason he/she was complaining, and actually tell him with out pissing him off, what would it be??

Judging is a thankless job. Most people that are active in judging really love doing it. They love to judge a good pack of hounds and pride themselves in bringing back the right hound ever time they go t o the field. I truely believe there are more guys doing it right every time then are doing it wrong...

A few will get upset on anything. They know better but want to act like they know more about it than anybody. There the same ones that looks at a tree and if the sun does not come up in the same place next week they will fus with GOD.You just cannot make these people happy. They want to come to a trial were everything is perfect in there way. There s the one that when they go to the bathroom theres don t smell.I will not put up with people like this.I tell everybody if your going to give my judges a problem come to me first then we will see what going on. I have two so far that I told not to come back and now the trials are a hold lot better. You just don t need these kind of people. Now I have heard about buddy judeges at other places but not here. That another thing I not putting up with.

My thoughts would be that some folks find things to be unhappy about so that makes them happy. Same as ,he just likes to bit@@ about everything. I once had a friend that his wife told me ol John isnt happy unless he finds something to be unhappy about. Ya ever notice its usually the same people. You wonder why do they even go to a trial...maybe they just like to bit@@. LOL Ill quit..

You asked the question of the century. I will tell you this. If you get cheated in AKC it is your own fault. There are some people who cheat in AKC but you know who is judging before hand. IF YOU GET CHEATED IN AKC MORE THAN LIKELY IT IS YOUR OWN FAULT! Don't go to the clubs you feel the judges are cheating.

In NKC/ARHA it is a cheating mans format. If you run in a trial in kentucky, tenn., west vir, and sometime from ohio(they are the fairest) and you are from another state. They will gladly take your donation. The buddy system is there. I only run AKC because of the buddy system. I have a awesome little pack dog and haven't run him since he was 18 months old because of the buddy system. Go to set judges and a check area and it would be a great format. This is an opinion only. The question was asked and it was answered as honestly as possible. I didn't beat around the bush. Run what you like, I do.

Germy Whoburped, here you go again. You make it hard for a guy that runs and judges AKC and NKC to keep liking you.

Crabby I think your the best houndsman that ever lived (in your own eyes) LOL!!
I know when you get beat too. Like me, MOST OF THE TIME
Just like when I was in high school, Im in it for the fur

WHY DO PEOPLE REALLY COMPLAIN ABOUT BEING CHEATED,,,,,,,THAT IS A REALLY GOOD QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN ONLY GIVE MY POINT OF VIEW ON THIS QUESTION,,,,,YOU RUN A HOUND A MONTH TO GET IT IN SHAPE FIGHT THE INSECT'S AND SNAKES AND SPEND MONEY ON GAS AND TOP QUALITY DOG FOOD,,GET UP SATURDAY MORNING 3:30 AM DRIVE TO A HUNT 4 HRS AWAY.AND THE VERY FIRST CAST ,,,, YOU GET A JUDGE THAT JUDGED YOU LAST WEEK,YOU KNOW THAT HE IS A CROOKED CHEATER,BUDDY JUDGER,ETC.BECAUSE LAST WEEK..YOUR DOG WENT IN A BRIAR PATCH .AND THE OTHER -4-DOG'S WERE IN A COW PASTURE YOUR DOG TAKES OFF BARKING .-4-RABBITS RUN OUT. THE ONE HE IS RUNNING GOES IN A HOLE ABOUT 100 YDS AWAY THE JUDGE SAY'S NO SCORE I WASEN'T SURE WHICH DOG IT WAS,HE WAS TALKING TO ONE OF THE HANDLERS ABOUT THE DOGS IN THE ROAD AND LOOKING RIGHT AT THEM..THEN THE SAME DOG TAKES OFF ON ANOTHER RABBIT RUN'S FOR 6 1/2 MINUTES ALL THE DOGS JOIN IN.EXCEPT HIS BUDDY'S DOG IT RUNS DOWN THE ROAD LOOKING IN THE THICKET AT THE DOG'S.THE RABBIT COMES BY THE HANDLERS ALL SEE IT,, HE CALLS DEAD TRACK.MINUSES THE DOG FOR NOT PRODUCING.I KNOW THIS IS A LITTLE LONG WINDED, TO ANSWER THE QUETTION.,,,,, AND YES IF YOU JUDGE YOU WILL SURE SEE THINGS DIFFERENTLY BECAUSE YOU WILL GET JUDGED BETTER .AND SOMETHING ELSE I THINK IS FUNNY, THE ONES THAT SAY THE JUDGES ARE USUALLY GOOD AND HONEST ARE JUDGES..!!!!!HEY PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE BUT JUDGES !!!!!!!PLEASE JUDGE THE HOUNDS!!!!!! THERE'S SO MANY CHAMPION DOGS NOW THAT COULD NOT RUN A RABBIT IN A SHOE BOX IT IS STARTING TO TAKE A SERIOUS TOLL ON THE BREED.
KEEP'EM RUNNING

For those that think there is no cheating in the ARHA, OPEN YOU'RE :eyes: .

Either you cheat or get cheated, and most of the time both, THAT'S THE ARHA WAY

I bet there ain't a judge out there in little pack that has not cheated for a buddy, or cheated against an enemy.

Seen Good Judges and [But at least they were out there trying]sorry judges. If you get beat shake everyone's hand. Most of the time been just plain whipped by a better dog. No shame in that on any given day any good dog can win. Have fun. Noticed that most people that conplain about the judges never judge them self [If they know so much why not Judge] A judge is not going to be able to see and score everything with a hard driving pack on the ground.

most the judgeing i see is good .. tenn twister i am a judge and i do not cheat...al u got to do is simply judge the collar not the owner ,, the dog that has the collars on tells you what to put on that score card.have i been around cheating yep seen it 1st hand had it layed to me 3 or 4 times..but in 6 yrs of trialing that aint tooo bad .. more good than bad guys.. if yall gonna whine so much why go !

Ernie, I'll take that bet. I'm not cheating for anyone and I don't have any enemies. As a judge, I find that your statement is calling all judges a cheater. Well, I'm not!!!!! Maybe you are hanging around the wrong crowd if you feel that way.

Go Jim!!! I have been trialing in the ARHA/NKC since 1991. I don't think I have been cheated on purpose in all those years. I lost some casts that I thought I won, but after watching that particular judge it dawned on me that he didn't know his a$$ from a hole in the ground. Yes, I did feel cheated by spending money and getting a judge that was not very good, but I really, truly believe that I have not been pencil whipped. If that was the case I would have spoken up. As Mike Crabtree said I know when I get beat and I have been beaten plenty of times. But, I will tell you this If there were no judges left at a hunt and my dog had to run against Hounddog, Mike Crabtree, Big Dog and Anthony Kerr I would have no problem with those guys judging the cast with their dog in it.
Kennel Blindness, and I voted for it in the poll, is the main reason as I see it. I think I have a pretty good pack of dogs, but I also have ENOUGH SENSE to know that other people have as good or better dogs than mine. I believe the bottom line is that a lot of folks just need to man up, swallow some pride and admit that their dog was not the best dog on that particular day. As a lot of people say on here, just my opinion.

Hatfield, I answered a question. It is not about like or dislike of a person. I didn't say one thing that wasn't the truth. If nkc or akc people can't handle my opinion they don't have to like me. That is thier right! I didn't put the post, I answered it as honestly as possible. Since you are the critic, where did I lie. :)

PS I love the AKC format and if more of AKC members would unite like the arha people do, we would bring alot of people. I don't crawl under rocks or stick my head in the sand. Not for you or anyone else.
