NKC LITTLE PACK 15"-18" CLASS

Post by RODNEY KNIFLEY »

ARE CLUB RECEIVED A LETTER SAYING THAT,THEY WAS GOING TO START A 15"TO 18" CLASS FOR DOGS.THEY ALSO SENT A SAMPLE ENTRY FORM SHOWING,THAT IT WOULD SHOW SIZE OF DOGS,AND BREED INSPECTOR,ALSO SPEAKING OF PERMANENT MEASUREMENT,WHICH THEY HAVE TO BE A YEAR OLD,AND THE COST FOR MEASUREMENT.I WAS JUST INTERESTED IN OTHER PEOPLE VIEWS ON THIS.WHICH I KNOW THEY ARE ALOT OF GOOD DOGS OUT THERE OVER 15".I HAVE WATCHED DOGS MEASURED BEFORE SOME DOGS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO MEASURE ACCURATELY.I HAVE BEEN A BREED INSPECTOR MYSELF.WAY I UNDERSTAND YOU WOULD STILL BE ABLE TO PROTEST A DOG AT THE STAKE EVEN THOUGH PERMANENTLY MEASURED. THANKS,RODNEY

i think that could be fun but what would it do for the beagle breed in general for the future ? i would love to see watch the big dogs compete. just imagine how exciting a trial with a bunch of rough, swinging, super fast , heads up running 17 inchers would be  you better have a big enough running ground to run on. i know when we get a good bunny being pushed by the big boys it will get out of hearing.

later, dave

This is JMO but i think there is a lot of great (big) hounds out there,But if we keeping getting them bigger it will soon be a time when we forget where the great little hounds came from. But i am partial to the smaller hounds.Again JMO

i'm gettin fed up with lil pack and there rules, and them changing the rules without asking members opinion, how many of us have ever seen a 17 or 18 inch hound i have seen some oversized dogs but i don't think i have ever seen a 17 or 18 inch beagle, not saying that they aint any just saying they are really few and far between, oversized dogs are not the biggest problem of lil pack,if u want to fix things fix things that need fixin, and quit trying to find ways to make more money,if u draw out with a dog that u think is oversized then u have the right to measure that dog and if he is to big then he goes to the truck and don't get to run so what is the big deal i have been to to crap load of hunts in the 12 years that i have been trialing and i bet i have only seen 6 or 7 dogs measured so that don't sound that bad to me....good luck guys i'm taking a break from lil pack and gonna pkc for a while, not saying it's better but gonna try and see if i like it better...jmo,not trying to start any arguments with my post.............
