well there is got to be a way to judge with garmins ,the biggest obstacle of course is determining where the rabbit went .why not write program where the judge hits button says rabbit is up .then the scoring starts dog running most of line first wins .the rabbit line could be determined by the garmin mapping out the middle of where most dogs went through.when you watch chase on gamin with dogs running its possible to tell kind of where the rabbit went.with more accuracy dogs could be minuses for overrunnig siderunning cutting plussed for speed on track first on track.percentage of time first on track.still lots of room for error but having program for it less sweat guess im just a little lazy

i don't think there is anyway this can work being as they lose signal every now and then say your dog is gettin ready to pull a check and then u lose signal for 20 seconds and it pops back up u don't get your check because the signal was lost. then the other dog pulls a check and the signal is strong and the hound gets scored that don't sound to fair to me.

What percentage of a rabbit chase does a judge see?

Soooooo, if dog "A" is running the line accurately and getting all the checks, and dog "B" is overly competitve and constnatly takes the front away from dog "A" only to lose it again until dog "A" catches up breaks one off in him you are saying dog "B" would win cause the garmin shows he's out front most? Don't sound right to me. Besides, unless the rabbit had a collar on too there is no way to be sure how accurate the dogs are running. There's just some things a judge has to see with his own eyes.

Why not just put the dogs in front of the TV on a treadmill, and strap some WII wands to his legs and nose and let him chase Bugs Bunny?

dog b if he is overly completive will also most likely overrun track therefore minuses no he would not be winner.ya not a perfect world no matter what scoring system used be it human or electronic. i personally have seen a cast judged at the world where i saw a dog (not my dog )lead the pack by 50 to75 yards he had kind of a soft voice he would come through on the track the 3 judges had no idea where he was. hammered most of the hour he did not score a point.then the other 4 dogs come through then the 3 judges scoring those four dogs on the exact same track that was already run .felt bad for the handler it was definitely the best dog out there he would have benefited with electronic scoring.
