Well first, I would like to say thank you to everyone that drove to the hunt and to face the nasty weather that we had. I no the running was not real great but, we did have some rabbits. Again I need to thank the ladies in the kitchen for the great food and drinks. So thank you Sherrie, Sandy,and Tresea without you ladies we would not make it through the day. I would also like to say thanks toTony for stepping up and being master of hounds for this hunt. Well we had 41 dogs and a full bench show. So congrats to the winners and everyone who placed.

[Walnut Ridge Farms]

The Van Buren County Beagle Club has worked very hard to get spots where we can hold trials. It is not easy to get enough spots that have rabbits and are safe to run dogs. We don't want to lose spots due to trespassers, people leaving their trash, or having someone come in and gun all the rabbits. Tresspass is still against the law and has been here in Michigan since the game laws were put into effect in 1929. I feel that it is ethically wrong for someone to go to a trial and be taken to a spot to run a cast and then sneak back to hunt it..........I guess that everybody does not feel that way.

I want to thank all who came to the hunt and especially the aforementioned ladies that worked in the kitchen. A special thanks to Tony Merriam for being our Master of Hounds. Congratulations to Justin and Trigger for thier win in the Champs and Shawn and Jewel in the opens. She was very impressive when I watched her go. Don't forget about the Michigan Hound of the Year runoff on Sunday March 11, and the Rich Timm Memorial Hunt on March 31. Both wll be hosted by the Van Buren County Beagle Club. See you there......

I was asked not to post but I feel enough is enough. I personally run with with Bill in Bangor because I live here. We have never trashed or gun hunted any of these spots nor have we have went to any spot that we trialed at. We had two spots that we ran that we have permission for both. The drinking, smoking or drugs that we supposedly do is wrong. I have never entered a dog in a trial, I started going last year to help out with Bills dogs or anyone else who needed a handler. I have met a couple of other beaglers who also will run in Bangor with Bill that I feel should have stepped up and you know who you are. I am not on here to start any more drama as I feel there is enough on here. I enjoy trialing even if i don't have a dog to compete.The camaraderie and meeting new people drew me in. Watching the dogs compete brought me back! I feel we are all men and threatening to beat on one another is stupid. We all know the drama makers and should hold them responsible.
