I've answered this several times while congress and Obama were busy digging us deeper.

The first step would be to make sure this stimulus (spending package) doesn't pass. Second step would be to freeze all government spending. Third step would be to pass the savings on to the taxpayers by lowering taxes.

Reality is, non of this will happen. The current leaders have demonstrated that they believe the best way out of this is to take money from us and spend it for us. They are going to spend their way out of this (with our money).

We should back Obama and the Liberals so they can get their wish Socialism. Man wrighting that almost made me puke. Republicans need to gain control of the House in 2010,till then the Democrats will be unstopable if the Republicans don't stick togeather and we already seen some can be bought.

WELL PRESIDENT OBAMA ,, GOT THE FIRST STEP RIGHT(PASSING THE STIMULAS BILL ----IT'S ONLY A SPENDING BILL IF THE DEMOCRATS DO IT ----) INSPITE OF THE REPUBLICANS,(THERE ARE SOME BAD THINGS IN THERE BUT OVER ALL IT WILL WORK)IF WE STOP GOVERNMENT SPENDING( ALL) GOVERNMENT SPENDING,WE WOULD BE IN A GREAT DEPRESSION IN JUST A FEW WEEKS,,AND I THINK WE STILL MIGHT GET TO A DEPRESSION STAGE,,,,,,,,,,,BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH THE STIMULAS WILL HELP,,,,,,,,,,,,, WE ARE GOING TO LOOSE THOUSANDS' IF NOT MILLIONS' OF JOBS BECAUSE OF, THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS,SEE THE AUTO WORKERS HAVE BEEN PANNING LAY OFF'S,, FOR SOME TIME,, AND WE DON'T KNOW WHAT'' THE EFFECT'S WILL HAVE ON SMALL BUSINESS'S. AND THESE JOBS, ARE UNSAVABLE AT THIS TIME,,,,THEY ARE AS GOOD AS GONE,,,THERE IS BILLIONS IN THIS PACKAGE FOR TAX CUT'S,EVEN THOUGH,IT'S BEEN PROVEN,, THE LAST FEW YEARS, TAX CUT'S CAN'T HELP.THE REASON FOR TAX CUT, IS TO ENCOURAGE SMALL BUSINESS'S TO HIRE MORE PEOPLE, AND EXPAND THEIR BUSINESS,AND INDIVIDUALS WOULD HAVE A FEW DOLLARS EXTRA TO SPEND.BUT ,,,,,THE INDIVIDUALS ARE BEHIND ON MORTGAGE PAYMENTS AND CREDIT CARD DEBT.SO THE FEW DOLLARS IN TAX CUTS,, WANT EVEN CATCH THEM UP MUCH LESS STIMULATE ANY THING ,,AND THE SMALL BUSINESS'S ARE BEHIND IN SALES AND HAVE TO MUCH INVENTORY THAT ,THEY ARE NOT GOING TO INVEST ,BUT SIT ON THE MONEY OR PAY OFF SOME OF THE INVENTORY THEY COULDN'T MOVE.-------NOW YOU ASK HOW DO WE DIG BACK OUT OF THIS HOLE ,SOME SAY TURN AROUND HOUSING.START BUILDING,GIVE MONEY TO THE BANKS SO THE CAN MAKE MONEY AVAILABLE SO PEOPLE CAN BUY HOMES AND CARS,ETC..JUST TRY TO BUY OR BUILD A HOME,BUY A CAR OR START A BUSINESS WITHOUT A,,,,,,,,, JOB,,,,,,,SO WE ARE RIGHT BACK TO ----------INFRASTRUCTURE----------NOT ONLY IS THESE JOBS GOING TO HELP REBUILD AMERICA BUT,,,,,ALL THE ECONOMIST THAT HAVE BEEN CONSULTED THE LAST FEW WEEKS KEEP SAYING,,,NO ONE BESIDES THE GOVERNMENT,,CAN CREATE ENOUGH JOBS TO HELP (---NOT FIX---)THE ECONOMY,,,,,,,,I HAVE THE SAME CONCERNS THAT MOST OF YOU DO WHEN THE GOVERNMENT GET'S IN YOU CAN'T HARDLY GET THEM OUT,,,,AND THEY HAVE HAD TROUBLE MANAGEING,EVERY THING THEY TOUCH ,,,,,SO WILL ALL THIS WORK I DON'T KNOW ------BUT I REALLY HOPE SO---

False Statement.

Have you even read any part of the bill? The economist who have read the bill have publicly stated that only 6% of the bill would have a stimulating effect on the economy.

The Governor of Louisiana is considering turning down the stimulus pork money because it would end up costing his state more to accept it than to turn it down. It permanently raises the pay that would go to the unemployed but only funds it for 2 years, then the state has to fund it.

If you haven't been watching, the market has 0% confidence in Obama and his plan. That's real world and not political rhetoric. I guess it's Bush's fault that everytime Obama opens his mouth the market drops faster than it did the last time he opened his mouth.

Now quote something else you heard on CNN.

Tim that is an interesting observation. The market dropped over 300 points the day he won the election, over 300 points the day he was inaugerated and over 300 points the day he signed the stimulas. Those are real numbers not rhetoric, opinions, griping or bi##hing, there facts that show the people who financially support the econmy have no faith in the presidents plan or lack of one.

I have said it on here before and I will say it again, mess with the money and it will put you in your place, right or wrong it is a fact.

SO WHAT'S THE POINT ----------THE DAY GEORGE BUSH SIGNED THE 700 BILLION DOLLAR--SPENDING BILL TO WALL STREET, THE MARKET DROPPED NEAR 500 POINTS,,THE REASON THE MARKETS ARE UNSTABLE,IS THEY KNOW THERE IS GOING TO BE , NO MORE OF THE REPUBLICAN THEORY OF ECONOMICS,, THE RICH GETTING RICHER AND THE POOR GETTING WORSE OFF.GIVE THE RICH TAX BRAKES,LET THE REST BEG FOR A MINIMUM WAGE JOB,NO HEALTH CARE NO EDUCATION,THE REPUBLICAN WAY,,I'AM WITH THE REPUBLICANS ON GUN CONTROL,IMMIGRATION,AND MOSTLY ABORTION,BUT THEY ARE A LOST BALL IN HIGH WEEDS, WHEN IT COMES TO THE ECONOMY,THEY NEED TO GET BACK AND LET SOME ONE WHO KNOWS SOMETHING ABOUT IT TAKE CARE OF IT ,,WELL THAT IS ALMOST WHAT THEY ARE DOING, EXCEPT NOW AND THEN THEY COME AND TRY TO BLOCK SOMETHING,THE GOVERNER OF LOUISANA IS A TWO FACED,$^$^$^ HE WILL FIGHT TOOTH AND NAIL FOR HIS CUT,AS FOR THE ECONOMIST I DIDN'T READ ANY THING I WATCHED THEM LIVE.ON C-SPAN ,NO HIDDEN B.S. THERE.

Look at the numbers. The market is at an 11 year low and has dropped at an alarming rate each and every time Obama comes out and talks about the economy. Yet you still try to find a way to bring Bush into this, I'm sure he's to blame in your mind.

Pine mt. you made my point no matter wheather its Bush or Obama the people with the financial ability to invest ,to create jobs, to open buisinesses, to improve this econmy are saying LOUDLY that they are not going to share the wealth. The great one has not give investers a cozy feeling obviously, the market is lower than it has been since 1997 and that was before Bush.

If he would have had a good plan he would have got a bump when he took office, instead he has been on a steady decline. He had from early November until almost the end of January to come up with a plan. Its easy to make a speech, its much different when you have to have some answers and a plan to make it happen.

I JUST WATCHED PRESIDENT OBAMA GIVE HIS FIRST ADDRESS TO THE HOUSE,IT WAS SO REFREHHING TO WATCH A MAN FIRST OF ALL WHO COULD SPEAK ENGLISH,WAS NOT SO INTOXICATED TO THE POINT , HE HAD TO HOLD ONTO THE PODEIUM. TO KEEP FROM FALLING,AND ACTUALLY UNDERSTOOD, EVERY ASPECT OF THE PROBLEMS OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE THE NEED FOR JOBS ,HEALTH CARE,EDUCATION, GETTING OUT OF IRAQ,GREEN ENERGY ACCOUNTABILITY,MAKING THE BANKS SHOW WHERE OUR MONEY IS ACTUALLY GOING,SOMETHING WE HAVE NEVER HAD BEFORE AND EXPLAINED VERY WELL HOW IT WOULD BE DONE ,HE ADRESSED THE NEEDS OF SMALL BUSINESS AND HOW TO HELP THEM, AND DID NOT JUST TALK,ABOUT TAX CUTS FOR HIS ELIETE FRIENDS.,AS THE WORLD WATCHED THIS SPEACH I'M SURE THEY FELT AMERICA WAS HEADED BACK FROM THE DARKNESS WE HAVE BEEN IN ,FOR SO LONG ,AND WOULD ONCE AGAIN BE A SUPER POWER TO LEAD THE WORLD,------------------------------

AND THEN OUT OF RETIREMENT CAME THE NUT JOB, FROM LOUSIANA(BOBBY JINGLE),THAT JUST LIE'S ABOUT EVERY THING HE SAY'S,,HE IS AMAZING''' HOW CAN ANYONE BE THAT CRAZY AND GET ELECTED ,HE JUST REAFIRMED,THE FACT,THE REPUBLICANS LEAD AMERICA OFF THIS ECONOMIC CLIFF.AND BRAGGED ABOUT IT.AND SAID IF THE PRESIDENT DID NOT DO WHAT THE REPUBLICANS WANTED, THEY WOULD CONTINUE STONEWALLING.NO SUPRISE THERE.....AND KEPT ON AND ON AND ON TALKING ABOUT JUST HOW OUT OF TOUCH THE REPUBLICANS ARE WITH AMERICA.....I DON'T THINK HE WAS THE BEST CHOICE FOR THE REPUBLICANS TO TROT OUT.AND TRY TO REBUKE WHAT THE PRESIDENT HAD SAID .HE MUST HAVE WROTE HIS SPEACH YESTERDAY------SO OUT OF TOUCH.........SORRY I FORGOT ONE LITTLE THING

the people with the financial ability to invest ,,, THEY WILL NOT INVEST BECAUSE THEY DO NOT INVEST THERE OWN MONEY ,JUST MINE AND YOURS THEY GET,FROM THE REPUBLICANS THROUGH TAX CUTS ,,,,,,,

I thought it was good. To the point and very realistic to what we can and cannot do. I was kind of shocked on a couple occasions, I was surprised that a few Democrats sat on him, and I was very surprised to see so many Republicans cheer for him throughout the speech. He stepped on the Democrats toes a little, went with a few of the Republican’s ideas and placed some of the blame on the American people, and he was right. The American people can’t say that when they made the choice to go out and get loans to buy cars, homes etc… that they couldn’t afford and claim “it’s all the bank’s or government’s fault”, or “they allowed me and provided a way for me to do it”, or “they made it look so easy and good, they tricked me”. Just how ridicules does that really sound? When Obama said he “blames Americans for short-term selfishness”, he was right. Americans have spent a few decades living beyond our means and it has caught up with us. I’ll quote him as he said “Short-term gains were prized over long-term prosperity… we failed to look beyond the next payment, the next quarter, or the next election… difficult decisions were put off for some other time on some other day”. I also like the fact that throughout all of this he used the word “we” and not “they”. The blame for all of this is for all to share, and it will take all to fix it. I really liked the part about the hybrid cars rolling off the racks ready to go, but being powered by a battery from another country. I think his push for a “no” tax break for American owned companies that are “outside” the US and the push to buy “American made”, is great. I thought it was “for the most part” a bipartisan speech that was liked and accepted by most. {except nutcase Jindal, he won't be there long} I saw in a poll, the question was asked “Did President Barack Obama's address to Congress give you confidence in the nation's future?” 72% - yes, 18% - no, 10% - not sure. I think in about a year you will start seeing our country being more unified than it has been in decades. A president that is willing to work with “who ever” comes up with the best solutions, {regardless of what party they are from} is what this country desperately needed.

I will judge Obama by his actions, not his words. He talks a lot and is smooth but lets see what he acomplishes and see if he messes with our Constitutional Rights and fixes the economy. Lets watch is his approval rating over time. I hope he is successful for the good of the country. I persoanlly do not believe he will be and I hope I am wrong. I don't trust him or his radical revolutionary party. Actions speak louder than words.

I keep remembering the Oil Co's saying, "a recession in the US will not affect us one bit, other Countries still want our oil and will pay for it". Now Gas refineries have slowed production looking forward to the summer season to boost gas prices on supply, while the Country lies bloated with oil reserves. Is there no end to the greed? The traders in the market are already looking to annalist for futures and commodities to run up. There are to many people trying to make money on trading paper, rather than actually working & producing something. The market is so rigged, puts, calls, options, the shorts are borrowing and bleeding out the market on this disaster of events. How can anyone call themselves an American an short the companies into BK.

We used to have a smokehouse and cellar, I remember going down for potatoes, green beans for mom and a jar of canned beets for dad. Yup, the garden will be in high fashion this year.
