Lost the whole kennel ( feed may be the Problem )

Post by oricks_outlaws »

Im not sure if anyone on this board feeds Marksman Green Bag. But I just bought a new bag this evening and 1 1/2 hours after feeding tonight I lost my entire kennel. I had enough time to get them to my Vet and he ran stool and all blood work and found nothing wrong. He is haveing me take the bodies to MU to a pathologists specialist first thing in the morning so they can do a full autopsy. Plus do a work up on the feed as well he thinks the feed was TOXIC! I dont want to scare anyone but just dont want this to happen to anyone else is all. . . . .

Ron, so sorry to hear about your terrible news. How were they acting before you fed them this feed?? Let us know what the autopsy shows. Were they all exibiting the same symptons and what were they?

Thanks Guys Yes it does Suck!

They was full of energy when feeding then I had a dog baking his butt off so I went back out and they was all lethargic stumbling around like they was drunk. I rushed them to the Vet but it was to late.

I'm real sorry to hear about this, Ron. I can't imagine going through such a disaster with my hounds. Let's hope the good guys at the Mizzou Vet Med School can get you a quick answer. If the feed is bad, that has to be found out now.

Sorry to hear of your loss! Was this the 1st feeding this brand of food or have you fed it before? If so that hit quick. Are you taking a sample of the feed with you to have it tested as well? That is just crazy as all get out. I wish you the best and once again sorry for your loss.

Yes this was a fresh bag just bought it tonight.

Yes Im taking the whole bag minus a sample for my records to have it tested as well. . . . The maker of the feed may be a fertilizer company Im still researching it all
