LOST ENTIRE LITTER AFTER VACCINATED

I LOST MY ENTIRE LITTER OF BEAGLE PUPPIES THIS WEEKEND. I GAVE THEM THEIR SHOTS ON THURSDAY, THEY STARTED GETTING SICK ON FRIDAY MORNING AND BY SATUDAT THREE WERE DEAD AND THE REST DIED TODAY, (SUNDAY). I CALLED MY VET ON FRIDAY, HE HAD ME BRING IN A STOOL SAMPLE, AND HE CALLED AND SAID THEY HAD ROUND WORMS, TO WORM THEM AND GIVE THEM PEDIOLITE FOR DEHYDRATION. i WAS GIVING THEM PEDIOLITE ALL WEEKEND. THE PUPS WOULD HAVE BEEN SIX WEEKS OLD ON MONDAY. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANYTHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN BEFORE. I USED CANINE/SPECTRA 7, FROM TSC. THE GUY THAT WAITED ON ME SAID I COULD USE THIS INSTEAD OF THE REGULAR PUPPY SHOTS. THESE WERE 1.50 CHEAPER. I FIGURED HE SHOULD KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT, SO I BOUGHT THEM. TODAY, I CALLED THE MANAGER, AND TOLD HIM WHAT I USED, AND HE TOLD ME, THESE WERE NOT FOR PUPPIES, AFTER I TOLD HIM WHAT THE GUY I BOUGHT THE SHOTS FROM SAID HE CHANGED HIS TUNE, LIKE HE WAS TRYING TO COVER THE STORES BUTT. I BELEIVE THEY SOULD BE LIABLE FOR THE COST OF MY PUPS. WHAT CAN I DO LEGALLY?

I have heard but never seen that the lepto in the 7 way can cause problems with pups. I HAVE given it but usually give the 5 way on the first two shots. They say lepto in the shot can cause a reaction. But, I have never seen anyone loose a whole litter because of the shots.

Did you worm them at two, four, and six weeks??? Round worms can do a number on pups if they aren't caught early.

probably nothing,if you go to a court room the first thing i would ask is why you took advice about a medication off of a retail sales clerk and not a doctor of vetinary medicine.how would the judge would think after just this one question?
i hate to hear this happened to ya,
my attitude with sales clerks is rather low and any advice they offer- i ask them how they feel qualified to give thier advice?just cause a guy sells shoes dont mean he knows anything about them,etc.etc.
sorry for your loss but i think your gonna waste time in court.

It will be a hard row to hoe to prove what the sales clerk told you (as he will no doubt lie), and then it will be harder still to prove that the vaccinations killed your pups if all you have is a stool sample saying your pups had worms.

I understand your emotions that, if the sales clerk led you down a wrong path, and if you relied on that informion to your detriment, that he (the store) should be liable ... which is actually true ... but proving it in court is a whole different deal. The truth, and you possessing all of the facts to prove that truth in court, are two completely seperate issues. If you have discarded the bodies already, and/or if all you have is a stool sample with worms in it, you simply do not have a case.

In the end, it is best to purchase as little as possible at a feed store anyway, but to purchase all of your products from the wholesalers they purchase from. And then it is best to educate yourself on shots, the best brand names, and which shots should be given to pups, and when. There are only a few brand names that I would trust, and (as mentioned above) I would not give lepto shots to any young pups (in point of fact, I don't give them at all). Many of the 'cheap' brands are this cheap because their research and standards are inferior. It is great to save money, when possible, but only if the quality of product is as good as a more expensive brand.

Sorry about your loss, but knowing the truth and having all of the evidence to be able to prove it in a court of law are not the same thing.
