How Would You Score This Scenario in LP?
Dog A and B are under a brush pile. Neither dog opens. A rabbit is pushed out in front of dog C, who just happens to be taking a dump, but opens and gives chase. Handlers can't agree on which dog, A or B, moved the rabbit. Is there no score or does dog C get a strike? This actually happened.

If dog c opens 3 times first then dog c gets the strike, if the judge can not tell which dog jumped the rabbit then he can not award a jump.

Other side of the argument has been the rabbit has been jumped so a strike can't come after because the dog doesn't have to open to get jump/strike points. The rules are not real clear here. Since the judge can't determine which dog jumped the rabbit, he could call no score and go from the first check. We have about beat the argument to death so just looking for others' opinions.

just because you saw the rabbit shouldn't interfere with the judging. if dogs A & B don't open and the judge can't tell which hound moved the rabbit from set up then dogs A & B don't receive any points, it was just as if they were not there and dog c would get 10 points for producing because he barked three times first and i'm guessing they ran the rabbit afterwards. in the event dogs A & B were barking at the time i might be more likely to go from next check and then again i'm guessing wasn't there since i didn't see it i can't score it. lol
let honesty run through the veins of each and every judge at each and every trial at each and
every format.
every format.

The dog doesn't have to know he or she jumped the rabbit to get the jump but the dog had to open 3 times to get a strikerabbitatfarm wrote:Other side of the argument has been the rabbit has been jumped so a strike can't come after because the dog doesn't have to open to get jump/strike points. "No jump shall be given on the rabbit that is jumped by the presence of a hound " If the hounds have to be put on the rabbit.

If the judge jumps a Rabbit the judge can choose to let the dogs work and the dog that opens 3 times first would get the strike. If the dogs were not called to the track
