I have a lot of hours logged on these collars already and can tell you with confidence that you will get as much range out of the Mini's as you will the full sized TT10's and 15's.
Here is another one of Double U's reviews, mine is at the bottom of his page. I strongly recommend Double-U Hound Supply when ordering, they go above and beyond to help their customers.

Not sure if plumcreek is talking from first hand experience in this "review".I will stick with info provided by dusupply since they put the R&D behind their review.

In the tests we've done in the field, the range we have been getting is between 2.1-3.1 miles. We are in rolling hill terrain and because of all the rain, the underbrush is massively thick. If I averaged all my tests together, I'm getting about 2.27 miles, on average out of the mini. The mini range is only UP TO 4 miles. Big Brother range is UP TO 9 miles. We get 3.1-4 miles out of big brother (standard TT 15 / T 5). Less than than out of the mini (but you would expect that).

To answer the person asking if the mini is bigger than the SportDOG TEK..the answer is no...it is smaller. The TEK has a shape that conforms to the dog's neck. The mini is brick style (like the EXP), but, it does not go as wide around the dog's neck as the TEK collars, which I personally prefer especially in the heat of summer running. You can see how it looks here: http://www.okiedogsupply.com/Garmin-Alp ... 486-30.htm or the mini T 5 here: http://www.okiedogsupply.com/Garmin-Ast ... 486-20.htm. The beagle wearing the mini T 5 is a 9" tall beagle. The dog wearing the mini TT 15 is a 13" male. Even on the 9" tall female, you can see, the mini is, well, mini! ;-)

Dealers are expected to have stock approximately the 3rd week of August. Pre-Order is recommended. The date to dealers could change (sooner or later). It is really an amazing collar, especially for all of us with smaller dogs.
