International Business Times - Mike Huckabee supports Paraguay's abortion ban for 11-year-old rape victim
Former Arkansas governor and Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee stated his support for Paraguay's decision to oppose an abortion to a 10-year-old girl who was raped by her stepfather. The girl, now 11-years-old, gave birth to a baby girl via Caesarean section on 13 August.
"Let nobody be misled, a 10-year-old girl being raped is horrible, but does it solve a problem by taking the life of an innocent child?" he told journalist Dana Bash on CNN's State of the Union on 16 August.
Huckabee, who has taken a firm position against abortion, added: "When I think about one horror, I also think about the possibilities that exist and I just don't want to think that somehow we discounted a human life ... Let's not compound the tragedy by taking yet another life."
According to the Huffington Post, Huckabee has said he is not opposed to the idea of using federal troops and the FBI to stop women from having abortions. "I will not pretend there is nothing we can do to stop this," the GOP candidate said during an Iowa campaign stop in July.
When asked by journalist Matt Taibbi if stopping abortions would mean using federal troops or the FBI, Huckabbe responded with:"We'll see if I get to be president." He added, "All American citizens should be protected."
Huckabee,,,is For The Death Penalty,, And AGAINT The Poor Sick and Elderly.
The 11-year-old rape victim's case sparked international condemnation after Paraguay's health minister denied the victim an abortion. The abortion ban caused human rights groups around the world to argue it was both inhumane and dangerous.
Amnesty International's director for the Americas, Erika Guevara, issued an statement on 13 August saying that the fact the girl survived giving birth "does not excuse the human rights violations she suffered at the hands of the Paraguayan authorities, who decided to gamble with her health, life and integrity despite overwhelming evidence that his pregnancy was extremely risky and despite the fact that she was a rape victim and a child".

PMB I see you agree with the dems, a person can have sex with whomever or whatever they choose and well the tax payers can pick up the pieces, pay the damages, fund the immorality. It is obviously Mike Huckabee's belief that caused this tragedy. Your kind is the problem you don't ever want to fix the root cause just find someone to blame.

Re: Republican Evil
So we can come to the conclusion that Rufus is not a member of Democrats for Life of America. Once again he's cherry pickin' in an attempt to create an allusion. Thing is, he assumes that everyone is a blind sheep like him. I can only speak for myself, and I think that it is a horrible and tragic thing in cases like these. Cases like this are not the norm and liberals like Rufus over emphasize a single occurrence to selfishly push their agenda. Truth is, arguing over this is subsequent to say the least. It is a result of liberal thinking like funding free sex education, birth control, and abortions. They are all a big neon sign saying go ahead and have premarital sex, we got your back. It is a result of the moral deterioration of this country. With incidents like this one that Rufus so eloquently brought to our attention, is an example of the lack of punishment for sexual offenders and how it creates an open door for that behavior to continue. I've looked at the statistics, and teenage rapes are a low percentage of abortions performed, but one in our history is a tragedy.
Sometimes it is hard to know the right thing to do, and sometimes doing the right thing is difficult. People like Rufus who find celebration in an 10 year old being raped so that he can attempt to belittle a politician is as low as it gets. People on both sides of the argument see the tragedy in such a case, and both want to prevent more tragedy. Rufus however, finds celebration in the matter. Way to go Rufus!

Re: Republican Evil
More of your twisting truths. 1st PMB you can read my past posts on abortion and you will see that I have stated on more than one occasion that I don't agree with abortion but that I don't have to live with it so as long as I don't have to fund it through my tax dollars it is the law. Rape is a terrible crime but that was not what your post was about. Your post was aimed at taking a shot at Huckabee for his beliefs. You are just like Huckabee just your on the opposite side. Huckabee wants no abortions and you are for whatever the democrats tell you to be for which is killing it at any point in the pregnancy and selling the organs for profit all at the tax payers expense. Who is really evil here. LMAO!!!!

You absolutely were cherry picking and all of us here know why you did it. You don't give a darn about about that poor girl, you just wanted to point out the fault you see in Huckabee, all the while ignoring your own. No one here said that rape was "having sex". You did not read my post completely, or simply couldn't comprehend what was stated, to come to that conclusion. Huckabee takes a hard stance on abortion that is for sure, but none of us know all the details. That baby would quickly be adopted and there is a waiting list for babies, but you would rather kill them so the tax payers don't have to "raise it". God forbid a child gets a little of Rufus' pie. Keep on proving your worth buddy!Pine Mt Beagles wrote:There is no illusion,,or Cherry Picking,,,,

Huckabee
Is the a Worst kind of a Trash,,A Liar A Hipocrit,,who leads the Blind With his Hate, and in sites Tyranny,,,,I Seriously doubt he ever ,read the Bible,,he has Never made A Statement about it.
He had told some lies.
But,,then he is Republican
FactCheck.org.
Mike Huckabee, an unsuccessful 2008 presidential candidate, announced he is running for president once again and, in doing so, repeated some old, discredited lines on the economy, health care and tax cuts.
The former Republican governor of Arkansas spoke for about a half hour on May 5 in his birthplace of Hope, Arkansas. Among his claims:
Huckabee said “93 million Americans don’t have jobs.” That’s misleading. There are 93.8 million Americans who are not in the work force, but only 6.1 million of them want a job, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. As we have written, the vast majority are students, stay-at-home parents, retired seniors and others who do not want to work. In fact, 37.3 million of the 93.8 million, or 40 percent, are 65 years old or older.
In touting his accomplishments as governor, Huckabee said “we passed 94 tax cuts.” We wrote about this multiple times when he ran for president in 2008. There were 94 tax cuts and 21 tax increases under Huckabee, resulting in a $505.1 million net increase in taxes.
Huckabee, who was governor from July 1996 to January 2007, also claimed “we saw family income increase by 50 percent during my tenure.” That does not account for inflation. As we just wrote, median household income rose 9.3 percent from 1995 to 2006 in inflation-adjusted dollars.
In criticizing Washington for failing to keep its promise to seniors, Huckabee claimed “Congress took $700 billion out of Medicare to pay for Obamacare.” This is a Whopper we have written about multiple times. The Affordable Care Act reduces the future growth of Medicare by an estimated $716 billion over 10 years, mostly by reducing future hospital and Medicare Advantage payments. The ACA, which also increased revenues, will improve Medicare’s finances.
