What Ronnie G said about the check chord in the yard you can take to the bank. I have been working with a wild pup for the last 6 weeks and the light has come on in the last few days. When she starts she will already be handling. I have seen a buddy green shock a young dog into the next county more than once. You have to condition them to the collar. I use the tone more than stimulation for handling. Early you have to be consistent tone tone pop if they don't respond at first. You give the dog a choice and if he makes the wrong one he gets corrected.

I had the Trashbreaker, before I bought my G2 classic 70. I bought the Classic 70 for the smaller collars - I only wish I would have bought the G2 trashbreaker for the extra distance.

Joeyman wrote:What do you think about the classic 70 G2 exp? any good or bad things about it. I just bought a set, 2 collar system for my dogs. Main reason is to help handle them in the field. They can get a little hard headed on me sometimes and don't want to come when called. Any tips on how to use these collars for that purpose.

Supposed to be here this friday. Mine came with a holdster two chargers just about everything I need.

Thanks Joey
They work great for this purpose and others . I normally put them on the dog before they leave thier
kennel and take them off after they march back into thier kennel . Start by toning when you command
your dogs to come and then try 1 if the command to come isn't working moving up from 1 according
to how stubborn the dog is gonna be and how hard 1 seems to hit them . All dogs are different , some
may need worked on a 30 ft leash ( recommended ) start out the same way and reward them when
they do obey no matter how stubborn they were  . Make sure the collar is always turned on when
going into the field and very snug around the dogs neck . DON'T use the tone button all the time the
purpose of purchasing your new unit was to make your dog listen to voice command . Once they're
use to it give em the juice every once in a while and you'll rarely even have to push a button ;) .
Trials will not allow use of the E Collar so it's a must that your dogs listen to you .

G2 EXP : Will not hit a dog from 20 foot away if it's inside an all aluminum box unless you're facing
the doors  .
"1 mile range" yea right I don't think I could throw a rock 1 mile :bomb: but if they're close by or
on flat land they will do the job .

Most my dogs have been smart enough that I haven't needed to use
the 30 foot tie out but sometimes it's a must .

I got the 3 dog G2 EXP and working upto a 6 dog unit. i really like it and you will to.Just tone then a quick bump on 1 to get there attention if they don't respond to tone. they will catch on really quick. then just holler and tone and they will come right to ya. But i never use either while running a rabbit unless they are in danger, otherwise you might teach them not to run a rabbit!!!
Jude is right you must teach them to come to your call and not only the tone, thats why i said holler then tone until you get them to come when called with using anything. Like he said if you don't this will hurt you if you trial cause you can only call them to come,no ecollars allowed.

Just my 2 cents
