I think what he was getting at is a truly good hound will finish in a short amount of time/limited trialing in front of different judges because he is a quality Field Champion. Where as some guy maybe just runs local small trials and eventually after going to enough trials he finally makes it. The old saying, even a blind squirrel will find a nut every now and then. I don't think that dog, even though he is a field champion by name is any where near as good as one that finishes out quickly. I have seen several that made UKC champion, and even grand around here because the true rabbit dogs in the club will get their title, and then judge for their club buddies so their dogs will make it. Now that is in my area and not meant to represent any other reputable club, so let's not make an argument out of that statement. I just get what he is saying.
