Re: Son's Youth Hunt Buck
Thanks guys... He was pretty excited about it. He had let a five point walk on Saturday morning because he was hoping for a six point or better. Self imposed goals not mine. I was hoping he would kill the first buck he saw. He said nope Dad I'm waiting for at least a six point. Pretty proud of him!!!
hounds... hare.... hunter.... bang... what gets better than that.

Congrats! He did well. Nice Buck! Glad he wasn't disappointed later for passing up that 5 point. Ya just never know.
Now he's got something to brag about at school. He must have had a buddy he needed to "one up" so it had to be a 6 or better. Way to go little man!! Hang it on the wall a be proud! You done good.

Re: Son's Youth Hunt Buck
I remember when I was a rookie in the deer hunting department and dident have the pations to pass a buck.
I went out coon hunting with jason smith on there property and I was telling him how if it brown its down. I thought he got a little affended, but as we walked he told me how they pratice buck managment. Me being young dident believe a word. We kept on hunting the hounds and we stumbled on a big shed I think it was 5 on the one side but heavy horned.
I told him something like if u dont shoot it ur neighbor will he said that deer might make it
to make a long story short after coon hunting with him I learned that we all here in Michigan should practice buck management
Nice job growing nice deer bet u passed him up as a spike and as a 6 point but u know theres bigger. In them bedding grounds
