I bought a topo map card for my 320 before I bought the 320, when I got it i found out about birdseye. I put the topo card in the SD slot and downloaded birdseye. I have birdseye with the topo lines over top of the birdseye. I didnt know if it was the topo card or if birdseye comes with topo lines on it. Maybe im a genius and didnt know it. Does the standard birdseye have any topo lines on it? If it doesnt, mine does. i dont remember where i got the topo card from now, ebay maybe.... When I go to the select map section and click on it it shows that all of my maps are enabled. Im really interested to find out if this is what you are after...
Enabled- Basemap, NR,
Enabled-topo U.S 2008,
Enabled-Digital Globe,
Enabled-USGS Quads.

This is exactly what MoBeagler and everyone else is talking about. Birds Eye itself has ZERO topo lines on it, so you are doing exactly what Garmin told him he can't. The way you describe it, it sounds like you have your topo SD card in your Garmin, and then the Birds Eye images stored on the internal memory (this is what I said I would do only in reverse b/c I have a large amount of Birds eye downloaded).

The screenshot in that link above is exactly what I want to do. I just need to take the time to sit down and download the topo's from the website.

Yes,load one onto internal memory and the other onto micro sd. I loaded topo into internal memory and Birdseye onto micro sd. When my yrs subscripton to Birdseye runs out,I will still have it on micro sd, but only to areas I have loaded to sd card. Just did this today and it worked.

I spoke with Garmin extensively about it... On their newer systems they said they would work on the overlaying the map deal... But then again every time you call garming you get twenty different people with 20 different answers.

Just as an FYI, I got this working this weekend. It was pretty easy. Just load the topo, make sure both maps are enabled on the garmin and they will overlay each other. Nothing got erased or overwritten.

I tried it last night and It will not work for me.. I am using the midwest topo loaded onto system and I am using birdseye card.. It will not show them both.. I wonder if it has to do with the type of typo... I am scratching my head here?

Are you positive you have the topo loaded onto the units memory? Which map are you seeing when you turn on your 320, the birds eye or the topo?

After i downloaded the topo for PA from the site posted in this thread, it automatically loaded into Basecamp. Once in basecamp with the 320 plugged in, I had to actually tell it to load the topo maps onto the garmin. Once it finished loading, i unplugged the Garmin from the PC and turned it on. **I actually had to "reseat" the SD card with the Birds Eye on it for some reason.**

To check to make sure you have both the Birdseye and Topo maps enabled go to : Main Menu -> Setup -> Map -> Map Information

If they are both enabled you should see the topo lines and the Birdseye. I took some screenshots but haven't had a chance to post them. It actually enhances the Birdseye ten fold because the topo maps labels all of the little creeks, roads, back roads, etc that the satellite image and base maps do not label.

If you can post what you are seeing I can try to help you get it working. It definitely works though. I can't believe the Garmin people don't know this.

This is the topo card I have... TOPO U.S. 24K - Central Plains https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID ... pvID=31519 Ya, I have it downloaded to the card and both maps are enabled on my device. I will toy around with it some more and try downloading a different topo for it and see if that helps. Does your topo list street names and stuff as well?
