We win some an lose some, but we always have fun. I just like to see the dogs run. Im happy wityh my dogs and at the end of the day thats all that matters. Go to win, have your dog in shape and have a good time. lots of good people to run with.

Maybe the cool aid would be....... prepare your hound...... show up with a dog run in and ready.....evaluate it CLOSELY against the winning type.....then see if you have one that can win....OR speculate you are going to get cheated and talk up your hounds from the sidelines......

Certain judges are looking for certain types......like it or not.....your homework needs to be done there as well....JMO.

Go with an open mind and have fun. Ask questions. Avoid the negative complainers. They love company. Any time I attend a trial, if I'm satisfied with my hounds performance, regardless of placement, it was a success. Another good option would be to attend a judges seminar even if you never plan to judge. You will learn rules and proper procedures ,not falling victim to any ignorant comments or statements some can make. Just go and enjoy. Give us a report.

I will say this about trialing that I have learned over the past couple of years that I have done it. Learn what each format is looking for before you drop a dog down. Even though you think they are tough, if it is not what fits the rules of that particular format you are going to feel you were cheated. Learn the rules inside and out of each format because this will help you see which one will fit your dog. The first one I went to I did not have a clue what was going but I did not mind asking questions. I have run in AKC,UKC,and NKC trials. I liked them all but not everyone fit my dog so I guess what I am saying is go to one close to you , keep an open mind, and try to learn.
