After Trump’s ‘Failed’ Raid, Yemen Withdraws Permissions For U.S. Troop Ground Operations
February 08, 2017

Yemen will no longer allow U.S. ground troops into the country on special-operations counterterror missions, The New York Times reports.
The decision follows a Jan. 29 raid by U.S. troops in which multiple Yemeni civilians were killed. It is unclear whether President Trump’s ban on Yemeni immigrants played into the country’s decision to withdraw the permissions.

The raid, which reportedly killed a Navy SEAL, 14 members of al Qaeda, and a number of civilians, including an 8-year-old girl reported to be a U.S. citizen, has been described as a failure by some in the military community, including John McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Military officials have told reporters that President Trump ordered the raid with insufficient intelligence or preparation. These sources said the raid’s target was Qasim al-Raymi, the leader of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. Al-Raymi was not killed or captured during the raid, during which al Qaeda militants were reportedly tipped off to U.S. troops’ presence, leading to a firefight that lasted approximately 50 minutes and killed multiple civilians, including children.

The White House has pushed back on characterization of the raid as a failure, with White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Tuesday calling the mission “highly successful.” The White House has yet to confirm the decision or whether Trump will pursue further U.S. intervention in Yemen.

Please sir it is 5:45 am. I have not finished my cup of coffee yet. Have mercy and take it easy with some of these "stories". The "story" I read previously was that this operation had been in the works for months. BAArack the Black Sheep had agreed to most of its planning. I worked for a few years at SOCCENT, J3 Operations and Planning, SOCCENT stands for Special Operations Support Central Command. Central Commands theater of operation is the Middle East. I was working in uniform watching the planes hit the World Trade Center in 2001. Our office went real quiet then all hell broke loose.
Trump may have signed off on this op but it had been planned prior to his first 18 days in office.
I would do anything personally for John McCain, he is a true hero as far as I am concerned, but as a politician what has he done other than introduce that idiot Sarah Palin to the national spotlight. I am willing to bet he has slapped shoulders with a few GOPer's in your Great State.
Also just saw "story" that New York Police Department miscalculated cost of protecting Trump by around 10 million. To be more accurate it's figures were 10 million dollars to high not less. Don't agree with all this money being spent either, but maybe if WE WOULD PROTECT OUR BORDERS BETTER WE WOULDN"T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT AS MUCH and BAArack's Hawaii trips were probably not so cheap either.
Please let me stop spinning.
I wasn't going to bring up that Melania video but put it down and send it!
