Subject: Paul McCartney and PETA
Forwarded with permission:
If you are at all concerned about remaining a
breeder/exhibitor/owner,
and if you've been involved at all in fighting the
tons of anti-dog,
anti-pet owner legislation that keeps cropping up in
every state, every
province, everywhere, then if you watch the super bowl
on Sunday, turn
The TV to another channel during half time.
Why? because the entertainment is Paul
McCartney...an avid ARista
Who has given tons of financial support to PETA and
other Animal Rights groups.
Then, if you really want to make an impact, email
the network and
your local station, and maybe the NFL (or whatever
they call it these
Days) and tell them WHY you turned their station off
during half time.
Feel free to send this message to any list
you're on. The
more people that turn the TV to another channel during
half time, the
more noticeable it will be.

and whats your point
Bob;
I am confused, were you making fun of someone trying to protect their dog owner rights, or what here. You should know as well anyone how hard we have to fight to keep our opportunities open. sporting dog folks and breeders, trainers, agility, and obediance folks ultimately have the same things in common, and common enemies.

I try to pick my fights and close allies carefully. This isn't smart on both accounts.jackrabbit wrote:Bob;

sometimes its not a fight.......
to often sportsmen dont voice their opinions. We all tend to think there is nothing we can do, or what we have to say wont make a differance anyway. The dog training issue here in Indiana should be a solid example to everyone that yes what you think and have to say can make a differance. Bob you are the one that said we should cut the best deal we could and accept it...... So we did. We fought the closing of state lands in the spring and summer right to the finish and won. the deal is. we work our dogs on current dog training areas and reservoirs, and Fish and Wildlife concentrates more on building habitat. However, everything doesnt have to be a fight. Just voicing ones opinion and being firm about it does send messages. possibly the folks who put that stuff on will think about the letters, calls and emails they got, or perhaps the number of folks that watch other programming could have and impact. at the least, nothing will happen if we all keep our heads in the sand.
