I am thinking you can leave them on the charger when ever you are not using them. Then they are ready to go with a full charge when you need them. I have the classic 70s 2 dog unit that I have had for a couple years and that is what I have always done and they work real good.. CHH

The manual calls for 14 hours after the collar is blinking.

I just spoke to Tri-tronics last week and they told me to keep mine on the charger all the time when not in use.

I was under the impression that, with the older models at least, pre XLS models), that if you left them on charge longer than 14 hours it could "cook" the batteries. I have a set of Classic 70's that I bought just before the "S" series came out and I'm pretty sure thats what my manual said (to charge no longer than 14 hours at a time).

OK, you guys made me go dig up my manual..lol.. as I said I have the classic 70 s , but the manual says it covers the 70 s, trashbreaker ultra XLS , flyway special XLS, upland special XLS, pro 100 XLS, pro 200 XLS, and pro 500 XLS. The manual says you can store these models on the charger if you wish. Any other models, I don't have a clue,so thats right outta the book. Hope it's some help. I'll bet if you went to thier site or called thier customer service, they would send you a new manual free of charge. I know I lost one of the little plastic caps that go in the jack hole on the transmiter one time and called them and they sent me a plastic bag with several caps, some new electrodes , and several rubber caps that go on the collars and didn't charge me a cent. Pretty good folks at that Tritronics place. ;) ketcha later... CHH
