Abdominal injury

Post by rtspicer »

I have three beagles that are pets. However, they dig out and go to the woods to chase rabbits occasionally. In the past month two of them have come home with severe abdominal injuries. The wound has been the size of a quarter to half dollar, and deep enough to see muscle. There has also been brusing on the belly and some scratches on other areas. Has a rabbit been beating up my puppies? Or is there something else after them?

It is a possibility that they are getting caught on something when crawling out from under the fence. You might want to check the holes that they dig for sharp rocks... There is the other possibility that they are being attacked while in the woods. Are there any other wounds besides on the abdomen? Maybe some bite marks in other places?
