Classic 70 button

Post by coolbrze »

There's a small button on the back of my Classic 70 transmitter. Anyone know what it does?

So it's no good to us unless we buy the add-on beeper for the collars. Never realized the tone feature was add-on from what you buy as the standard set of transmitter/collars. Just has tone capability if you buy the add-on beeper...hummm

Coolbrze, the botton is for the tone for your hound, i use it before i have to shock the hound, they learn to come when you tone them instead of shocking them. Turn you switch all the way over to i think it's 6 and hit the button, you will hear a tone come from your collar, i have the classic 70 too and it works with mine... CJ

My tone button is like this picture.....on TOP of the unit, the little red light, push it and you have tone(only pushes in on models with tone I think).

Mine's the same way. Tone & audio are on the top w/ the correction level. Still not sure what this button is for though...

Look at the page feature guide page. Does yours look like this one? Do you have the classic 70 xls?

Are you sure that it is not the on/off button for the collar transmitter?

Still not sure. I don't think it's the XLS, it's the G2 which is the new version of the XLS??? My tone button is on the same 'switch' that the correction levels are on. The receiver on/off buttons are on the receivers.

I'm pretty sure that when u turn it to A then push a button thats for the beeper collars for bird hunters. A least thats how it is on the G2.

The small black button on the back of the transmitter for the G2 is the tone button.

Unless ur talking about something totally different.

If it's a G2 there should be a little brass threaded insert above it. It's the tone but the collar needs to be on 1-5 for it to work. Turn the collar on and set the transmitter to a number and hold the little black button in on the back and you should hear it beeping. It's also used to turn a beeper collar on and off. Hope this helps...

It doesn't make the collars beep, tone, or anything. Doesn't turn them on/off. My collars are the new G2, still interested...

Are you sure it's charged? Look at the top of the transmitter with the antenna towards you. You should see a small clear circle at the bottom left of the intensity dial. When you push in the button on the back, the small circle should glow steady green. Make sure you have it set on 1-5. You’re talking about the recessed button on the back of the transmitter right? If you turn the collar on, you should hear the tone. The collar will also flash green every 5 seconds or so when it’s on. If you don’t hear the tone, I’d call Tri-Tronics.
